Hi New Here...and looking for product delivery advice

Hi,

I've been reading helpful posts on this board for the last couple of months- this is my first post- so HELLO WARRIORS.

I have a question regarding delivery of digital downloads after a customer has purchased. In fact I'm getting my head around linking up everything I've done so far- a little history-

I have the exclusive rights to audio and video products by one of the worlds leading Hypno-analysts- the products are self improvement hypnosis products.

I have built a sales and thank you page with Xsite Pro.

I have had box shot images professionally designed.

I have joined Clickbank as they do payment processing as well as enable affiliate sales.

I am about to open an account with Aweber to handle the autoresponer.

SO what are the mechanics of actually delivering the product to the client-

in my head I'm thinking I have a further page on the website with all the downloads for a particular package (there are three separate product bundles, so I assume I would need three separate pages).

Then the autoresponder would send an email to the customer with links to the download page on my site. Also when clickbank redirects to my Thank you page there would also be a link on my thank you page to the product download page.

Is my thinking right? Is this the best way to go about delivery of the actual video and audio downloads after purchase?

I've also read on here about DLGuard- is this a necesary part of the mechanics of product provision?

Any help and advice will be much appreciated!

Simon

the method you are wondering about will work.E-junkie will do it for you also. Best of luck with your endeavor. Just rememberto make it as simple for your customer as you can. Simple is better and follow up a week or so later to see if they have any feedback, questions, etc.. so they'll keep the prouct in mind.

    Hi,

Here's another option that is self hosted and will do everything you want. Has a built in affiliate program, Aweber integration, protected downloads and some great add ons to increase functionality.

    Might be worth a look.

    Thanks,

Before they get to your thank you page, many IM's offer an upsell page for a related product. The buyer is in "buy mode" so make them an offer with a PLR product if you can get one with a "NO THANKS" option BEFORE you send them on to your final product.

Everything else looks kosher with how you've lined everything up.

Thanks Jimian, I will consider an upsell page, if not for this project then for my next one.

DLGuard isn't essential, but it will probably save you a lot of hassles once you get it setup.

You can add all your products to the DLGuard admin system (just a case of adding the links to your files which you've stored securely) and then you can create links to these products where you need to.

The main advantage with DLGuard is that it will create secure download pages for your products which you can set to expire after a certain time-limit, making your products more secure.

You can also monitor stats, resend download links, update products, bundle products and bonuses, all from the members area.

I used DLGuard in my business for the last few years, and have only just moved to Nanacast as a custom solution as I wanted my own affiliate program.

Hi James, I did use DLG in the end- once I grasped how it gelled with the rest of the payment process I got the result I wanted and am now happy with its ease of use.

If I read you correctly, you're making your customers opt-in to your list after they've made payment.

I would strongly advise against this.

I have been subjected to this and it really pis*ed me off!
To the point where I never bought from them again.

Put an offer on your download page to entice them to opt-in but don't make it mandatory.

Also, why send them to 2 pages?
Put the download links on the thankyou page.
As well as ads for upsells and/or cross-sells.

    This is a quick and easy way to do this;

Yes, definitely use something that guards the download page...I made that mistake for my first ever ebook and #1 in Google was my site, #2 was the product page with the book there for all to see!

Wow, thats exactly the type of thing I'm looking to avoid. Congrats on getting that #1 position on Google back when you released your first product though.

IF you have enough space on your webhosting account for these large files, you can upload them via FTP to your download destination.

IF you do NOT have enough space on your current webhost package then you may want to get another larger hosting package to upload them to and keep that as a download location site for other files you may have.

Then you must link the download page links to the download location, even if it is on another account.

Then Test Test Test to see whether you can access the files that you put up. Many people forget this step.

A simple trick to guard download location is to put them into a new folder and have an index page for that folder.

This index page actually *refreshes* to the main sales page again, or to another page/site that you are promoting.

After a few sales, you may want to invest in DL Guard, but since they are large files, they may take some time to download, so please set the expire to maximum.

If this is your main topic of interest, or niche, then you should be finding ways to grab the visitor's details and get them to opt-in so that you can follow up.

Remember, it often takes 7-10 visits to get people to buy, so the best way to get them back to your site is to follow-up.

If possible, use an exit special offer option for (say) $10 off if they leave the site without purchasing.

This has become a popular method of getting business.

Testimonials from happy customers also have a good pull factor, but please limit these to no more than 10.

I love ejunkie...you can put your opt-in form on the product delivery page, and thereby give your buyers the CHOICE to opt-in. Very important to give them that choice as buyers who are forced to opt-in to get their product will not be happy...and won't buy again.
