Getting visitors to a movie site

I have a movie site that has good content and well done SEO and linkbuilding. But it's quite new (2,5 months) and not getting much organic traffic still (sandboxed maybe?). First I'm wondering if it's normal, that such a site gets only around 10 visitors per day?
Secondly, could anyone suggest some good free promotional methods for a movie site?

What kind of movie site are you talking about? Fansite? Film criticism? If you have original content, or at least an original viewpoint on existing content, then surely you can leverage on youtube to attract traffic to your website.

If it is a movie site, I'd try getting in on VideoBoss while it's still open - TheVideoBoss.com. You basically get Andy Jenkins' full video marketing training course for 9 weeks. It costs a lot, so maybe not. About $2000 I think?

If you don't mind spending a little, then you can just put up a few videos on TrafficGeyser.com. It distributes your video to 50 of the biggest sites.

The free version would be to use TubeMogul.com to distribute your videos. I still like TrafficGeyser, though. However this sites works perfectly fine.

And participate in forums, and in other review blogs. Even ask for a link, that's always helpful.

You should employ the same methods used for any type of site to generate traffic - articles, videos, social networking, etc. This thread gives lots of ideas: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...c-sources.html

Here is a big hint, study how other movie review sites get traffic and implement those methods. There are plenty of movie review sites that get lots of traffic such as rotten tomatoes, and imdb.
