Will it work?

Hi everyone,
I have worked with joomla and wordpress before and I can make good looking simple websites with them. I was just wondering that if I make simple wordpress blogs or joomla website for people who don't know alot about internet and ask money for it........will it work? I can even get them a domain and webhosting. I searched it on internet and there are alot of websites that provide these services for free so I think it won't but I wanna ask you all.

    Of course. That's currently my main bread & butter. At least, with regard to using Joomla to create websites. I create a template for my client, populate it with their site information, add whatever functionality they want/need for their site, and charge them for it. I host for them (through a reseller account) and usually secure their domain name too.

    Go for it!

    It will work if you work it. That means taking the time to provide value to your clients. Show them work you've done (even your own sites) and explain some of your marketing strategies, etc.

    building a site for them is getting your foot in the door. The real $$$ comes later when you help them get traffic to it because that is ongoing and can be on autopilot.

    yes.. think about it.. every business needs a website.. look it up in your local yellows pages.. there are millions of them and plenty of them do not have a websites..

    Yeah, it will work, of course. But remember not to limit yourself to the simple stuff about wordpress or joomla. Make the initiative of learning more advanced techniques and stuff about website development. Most people will start asking you for the more advanced features so its good to be ready for it.

      Totally agree! I've been building websites for nearly 10 years now and I am amazed at how much I continually learn on each and every site that I do because of what the client asks for. And even still, I know that I have so much more to learn about it all.
