how does this video load?

Hey everyone,

I have been having the hardest time trying top get this video down to a manageable size. Could you tell me if it loads for you...

[Edit] I have updated the page with a video compressed by a $700 program called squeeze it. I should play a lot better now [/edit]

The First D2F VidCast - Where I have Been

Also, I am using adobe premier pro along with adobe encoder to render the videos. What is the best setting to get the smallest size with best quality?

It loads perfectly fine to me. I only use Camtasia though, so can't comment on any settings for adobe products.

P.S. - Nice video by the way!

    Shannon,

On IE8 your site has lost all it's formatting.

On FF you have a static squeeze box and then another pop over squeeze box that is set to larger than the window so you have scroll bars.

Not very pleasing to the eye...

Hey Tony Thanks for the feedback.

      Joe...

I believe it has something to do with your settings or firewall. You had the same issue on another one of my sites. So I would guess the java script I am using or something of that nature is causing you issues.

        That could be the case.

Your site triggers an allow/disallow box on my computer.

But here is the wierd thing...yours is the only site I've been to that does this. No other sites I visit cause this action.

Btw, the video loads fine and looks great.

Render at 14.98 fps, or 15fps, depending on the
source format. If you can get it down to 10 or
12 that's good too, but if you make fast movements
it'll look more blurry. For screen capture I usually
go as low as 3fps because then I can blow the
video up to 600x800 and still have a compact
          file.

For live action, you have to balance window
size, resolution, and frame rate to get something
that is acceptable and streams well even on slower
connections. Reducing the size of your output
frame reduces the size of the file, sometimes by
a lot for a not very-big reduction in the viewable
          frame size.

I would usually render a video, these days,
like what you are doing, in a 16x9 ratio. You've
got something closer to 3x4, which means your
video is taller for the same width and you've
got a larger file as a result.

I would render at 220 kbps for the video. Render
the audio in mono - 32 kbps is the lowest setting
I've usually been able to get good results with.

I believe stereo doubles the kbps so 32 becomes
          64. Usually not worth it.

          220+32 kbsp = 252kbps. When you get over 256
you start to create a situation where the video
will be hard to stream for some visitors.

I actually often render the video as low as 180 kbps
with 32 bit audio, but there is a drop in image
quality. It's all about how much you are willing
to compromise slickness to make your video
          accessible.

Also use a 3-5 second buffer on your player.

Looks like a nice vid but I gave up after 3 mins. It may simply be my poor broadband (1/2 Mb) but it was only playing for 5 seconds then buffering for 5 seconds - pretty unwatchable.

BTW - even with my poor BB, that amount of buffereing is unusual. I watch quite a bit of video online and yours was just a bit too slow to load for my patience. Sorry!

Good luck with improving your settings.

I had no problems watching the video in IE. There was however, an issue with the pop-up opt-in. I have scroll bars. I know you addressed this issue with Killer Joe, just thought I'd mention it.

On firefox 3.5.7, the popup has scroll bars, which someone else also indicated.

I have flashblocker up on FF and so there were some "F"s that I had to click on (which means my blocker is working ) and the video loaded and ran fine.

On Safari pc version 4.0.3, the popup also has scroll bars, and the video autostarted.

Video loads just fine, but music is annoying. Funny, 60 is freezing, because yesterday it was 40 in miami. I do strongly suggest that you dress for success. This is a lesson I learned in real estate that you need to look good to make money. All the best for you guy.

I wore a 3-piece suit in the last few videos I've done. I'm
about as laid-back and scruffy as they come, by inclination,
but I'm learning to perform for the market and have fun
      doing it.

At one time the idea that some dudes didn't have to dress
up for work seemed novel, but now it's commmonplace
and classless to wear shorts, thongs, and a t-shirt. Lots
of employers tolerate extremely casual dress so it doesn't
even show that you are "un-employable" and thus forced
      to be a loose-cannon innovator.

Is there a pendulum swing in effect? Is dressing-up cool?

I think it might be. I'm betting on it with my own stuff.

Video loaded fine but I have a pretty high internet speed.

However, unless you did it on purpose, I think you spelled the word "guarantee" wrong on the second title page.

Nice opt in video with a refreshingly nice message, sorry you lost your dad at such a young age but what lovely memories you have of him.

Now, video took about 8 seconds for me to load. Viewing in Firefox, the first time I tried to load, the opt in box appeared twice, side by side and I couldn't access the main video. After refreshing, this problem seemed to correct itself.

Love the intro for your main video, very inspiring. In your initial introduction I had a little difficulty in hearing what you were saying, it sounded slightly muffled, it wasn't crisp sounding so I had to turn up my speakers.

I can't get the video to load after 2 mins, 30 seconds maybe it's my internet connection?

It might be cool but I despise it.
