QUIT Wasting Your Time!!!

Ahh, the early stages of learning internet marketing. Finding keywords, getting traffic, figuring out copywriting that converts...these are all things that the newbie internet marketer is going to have to figure out if they want to be successful...or is it?

What if I told you all this has already been done for you and you can skip the early struggle? I bet you would be excited.

Well get excited!

Its all been done, and it's everywhere for the taking.

There's no rule saying you have to start from scratch with these things. Nearly every market is going to have at least 1 person that is making money from it. Find out who these people are and what exactly they are doing. There's no reason to reinvent the wheel. Take the hard work they have done and use it.

The perfect example of this is Walgreens and CVS. If you see a Walgreens, you are going to see a CVS across the street or at least close. CVS is known for their market research of local areas. They know exactly where they should put a store to maximize profits. Walgreens on the other hand, doesn't spend a dime in market research....why? Because they know CVS already did that work for them. They just find where CVS is building and buy a lot close by. (It might be switched, can't remember exactly).

There's no reason you can't do this with internet marketing.

Are you having a hard time finding keywords that will help sell your product?

Find a product that is doing well in your market and put the url in the google keyword tool. It will show you what keywords Google recognizes that website to be targeting. There ya go. You just found a butt load of keywords that work for your market.

Does your sales copy convert like a crack head trying to sell magazine subscriptions?

Find a product in your market that converts well. What are they doing on their sales page? Upsells, downsells, video, podcasts, optin? What tone are they taking with the viewer? What are the buttons they are pushing to get the customer to buy? What's included in their product? Do it the same way. Hell, copy paste the page and rewrite it relevant to your product. (Don't plagerise).

Does your marketing suck and you can't get traffic no matter what you try to do?

Find someone that has traffic in your market and use it to your advantage. Make friends with this person. Offer them something they can't refuse. Call them on the phone (my favorite technique for internet marketers...most don't expect to be contacted like this). Whatever it takes for them to say one word about your product. You just got yourself instant traffic without any hassle of marketing. You use the audience they've built to your advantage.

Everything you need to make your business successful has already been done. It's right there. Use it!

I usually like to find the product first...person second. Find what people are talking about. Or for internet marketing, find a clickbank product that is doing well...then find who made it. After you find one, it's easy to find more.

I ask who else they work with too. That way I know right away who to talk to next.

Y'know, I never thought of it that way and now I'm a think', "how am I going to test that one?" lol

Good post Travis, one we need to be reminded of. Most of the research out there has already been done for us, which is why I LOVE the competition!

Yup - that is good advice. At least starting by copying ideas and techniques is a good tactic. By the time you're up and running, you will learn more and more and be able to try you're own original tactics.

That's right. You definitely want to learn all the aspects. When you see it done right the first time, you learn so much quicker.
