Writing Faster Articles
I used to have the same problem but managed to overcome it. This is how I did it:
1. I always write about what I know most. I know a lot about health because I am a doctor. I also write about my passions of article writing and social media. In this way most articles will flow out of my thoughts without much research needing to be done (although I DO research articles at length when I am commissioned by publishers, for example).
2. I always write what I am thinking without worrying about the feel or flow of the article. I can edit later when I review the articles but if you wait for the perfect article then you will be paralysed by analysis. Get on and write something - you will learn from experience.
3. I took a typing course. I am still a two-fingered typist but I can muster 40 words per minute. This has halved my content creation time and proven a worthwhile investment.
4. I don't write War and Peace. My articles are generally short and punchy. 300 words is a good target but some articles may be a little longer especially when writing for larger publishers or in trade or specialised journals.
5. I always keep to one subject. This article, for example, is about writing articles quickly. I have not dwelt on the other thousand of components of article writing. Those can be saved for future articles!
There will, of course, be situations when you may wish to spend more time on article preparation. This will be particularly so for larger publications, industry and influential authority websites. The above tips do not count in those situations.
