Hi all,
I recently did an interview in which I answered 12 Questions in regard to SEO:

1. How do I get better Page Rank?
2. How can I get more good quality backlinks?
3. How do you know if your site has been penalized by Google?
4. How does "duplicate content" affect SEO?
5. How to find "buying" keywords?
6. How important is a sitemap
7. How do I track my SEO efforts?
8. What's the No1 rule of Good SEO
9. Why did my page rank drop?
10. Do you use software to manage your keywords?
11. What's considered black hat?
12. Does domain extension help ranking?

These Questions were based on 400 survey results.

I am looking turn it into a small dollar product or add it on to some of my existing products. I am looking for a few people to listen to (the uncut version) in exchange for testimonials to go with it.

You will end up with a product that you can sell and keep 100% (sell not giveaway)

Its a good interview where I keep to "facts" - not opinion which most forums have a lot of. in one example I showed a test when a certain type of link was placed on a home page, the site dropped 10 places in Google. Then in taking the link off- they next day it came back up to the previous place - nothing elses was changeding - thats factual advice!

I only want to do this for 10 people, and also would like photos or videos to go with it.

Best option is to drop me a PM, and I will catch up with you on monday - am away for the weekend.

Better check the new FTC regulations. I believe the term "testimonial" is only be used with paying customers. What you're asking for here are reviews or endorsements. Here's a place to get started:

FTC Publishes Final Guides Governing Endorsements, Testimonials
    Signature

Just when you think you've got it all figured out, someone changes the rules.

      Dennis,

The OP is in New Zealand.... How can he be required to comply with FTC regs...?

  • And where exactly do you get these "facts"? SEO is speculation.

    And PageRank... why whatever.

You can't go to the Bank and deposit PageRank.

Bad information is bad information whether you sell it or give it away.

    This made me smile. Sheese.

I am curious as to why you say SEO is speculation?
If you test certain things and can see the different results those tests produce wouldn't that be something you could use to help your site rank better with the search engines. I mean from what you are saying it's almost as if there is no reason to even bother trying to optimize your site for the search engines. I don't really follow what you mean. It also seems a little harsh to be accusing the OP of having bad information when you don't even know what it is he has.

Went to 12 houses in 40 minutes asked to do one search. If they were logged into google I un-logged them but didn't clear the cache. In 10 or the 12 houses in one block (3 ISPs) 2 had the same results for the same keyword (Different ISPs). none of the other 10 had a 20% overlap.

Sounds more than speculation. looks like they are returning different results to different IPs. Where are you getting the test results from? your one house or are you checking the nieghbors too?

Profit leaks, maybe social media because it seems to take a while and harder to fake seems to rule lately other then content. Maybe that is just this place. Check yours. (might have been an hour)

    Hiya Dennis,
I will have a closer look at the regulations- maybe my words were not as clear as they could have been........

    Re:And PageRank... why whatever.....

I am just answering the questions - page rank is a factor. thats not to say its a Huge factor....more of trust factor is googles eyes, after all, would you trust a business which has been around a while, than someone which is brand new.....

Re Facts...suggest you read the example I stated above, when you test 1 element, and then remove that element, you get very reliable information......

Some people will throw mud at anything..........

    Hi Paul,

Received the MP3, listening to it and I'll be in touch soon with my review.

Not sure why people are slinging mud here. Seems more productive to grab a review copy and check it out.

    Cheers,

    Jonathan

Yes, I get that and agree!!! I'm more interested in the practical/legal side of the issue. Maybe a lawyer will drop in and enlighten us!
