Use Blogger or set up my own domain name?

Would it be more beneficial for me to set up my blog using a tool like Blooger or set up my own domain name from GoDaddy?

    Definitely buy a domain name. If it's catchy and keyword rich you will have way more success.

      I would always advise your own domain and a .com .net or .org is at all possible, although I have ranked well with .info's before.

      Also you could direct this domain and still use Blogger quite effectively (to save on hosting fees. But I would advise starting with a cheap hosting account from Hostgator or Dreamhost and using Wordpress, which is super easy.

    I'd say get your own domain name, the long term benefits are far greater. Having said that if you really like the idea of using Blogger you could run your own domain name on the Blogger platform and include a custom theme.

    As the above mention - get yourself a domain name - it looks a LOT MORE PROFESSIONAL.

    In the long run you can get it to rank just as well, but mainly..

    You will build an asset! Over a few months you can build up an asset which can help you promote other related products, get you a following, build a subscriber base, and develop it's own page rank to help your new articles and posts rank better as standard. There are so many advantages to owning your own domain.

    If you can afford your own domain and hosting, go for it for your main blog.
    The grade of personalization you can achieve with Wordpress is absolutely better than what you can do with blogger.

    probably it would be better if your domain is your own name. I don't know what you guys think about that, i would appreciate any advice. I didn't do it, but many gurus tell this is the thing to do.

    Anyway, blogger will be useful as your side blog, since you can create so much blogs as you want ans use them as points od entry for your main one.
    On those side blogs you can publish rewritten article from you main one.

    Its hundred percent better to get your own domain name. You can still create a free blog at blogger and have it integrated to your domain. So that you can have harrison dot com as home page and harrison dot com slash blog as your blog.

    And any blog post you make on your blog will add a fresh page to your site which is essential when you are doing SEO.

    Always o with your own domain if possible. You dont have to make the site as well if you dont want, as most blog hosts have an option to hook/map your new domain into your blog account so that all the URL's are your own domains.
