Separate Class-C IP's, how important are they?

If you are running multiple CPA campaigns... can anyone tell me how important it is to have your sites hosted is separate or multiple Class-C IP addresses? I hear this is the best practice but it seems expensive and time consuming. Is it really that necessary?

I know people go for different C-Class ips to link between sites for search engine rankings. But for CPAs? I don't think so.

How exactly IPs affects your earnings?

I think a lot of it has more to do with when you are interlinking multiple sites that you may own in an effort to boost backlinks for SEO purposes... The theory is if there are too many sites linking to each other all within the same IP block or even the same specific IP address then the SE's will not give any rank to those specific links because it has figured out what you are doing... but if you spread your sites out accross multiple Class C Ip addresses then it is alot harder for the SE' to discount such an interlinking strategy....Again this is just Theory

I am sure there are other reasons and theories but that is the one I am familiar with

Thank you guys. I agree with you Gavin, interlinking multiple sites hosted by one static IP is bad for SEO value and long term strategy. My reason for asking related to running CPA offers was because of all the slaps lately. Do you guys think this is one way SE's are looking at affiliate offers to ban if you are targeting search traffic?

I'm not looking to do any interlinking of sites and I know having all my offers hosted on one IP won't hurt my earnings. I'm just concerned about raising any red flags if I'm targeting search traffic with multiple CPA offers.
