How to track multiple related domains?

If domains selling related products and a blog on a separate domain as well, how can you track them all so the original referrer gets credit when a sale happens?

Google Analytics gives you a different profile for every domain so if your shoppingcart gives you 1 receipt page and you can place the script for 1 google analytics account, how can you track the original referrer?

If someone goes form my blog to an opt-in to a separate domain and then to another and buys, how can the original referrer get credit for the sale?

That may go beyond the scope of my CBSaleTracker program, but what I have done is track traffic from the source coming in, through to the checkout cart via a (provided) variable that I fill in. ClickBank has a TID, Commission Junction has an SID, etc.

Since I realized not everyone buys first time around and therefore people have lists, I decided to add tracking to lead signups the same way.

With AWeber, for instance, you can create a custom field, then populate that field with the referring source. When they ultimately buy, you can see where credit is due.

Maybe short of your entire question, but maybe it helps.

What if you are not selling a clickbank product?

My program can add tracking to any network that provides a field for it. Amazon does not (that I know of) but CJ and many others do.

I would venture a guess that most affiliate networks allow for a tracking field; therefore, we could use it.

What about if its your own product?

Isn't there a way to do this with google analytics? Other people have related products that are on different domains.
