I find $9.95 a month to be a good hosting price. But you will have some big competitors to go up against, perhaps you should offer a free first month and then you can build your customer base quickly.

It's all very well running a hosting service as long as you can offer the support needed for your customers (pointless otherwise)

As Kim said - Support is the key factor here. I attempted the same thing when I first learned about business (although knew nothing of internet marketing). If you can partner with a web designers who don't provide their own hosting you could get a nice stream of customers. Also try looking locally for freelance web designers to partner with.

Another option is to offer web design to local companies & then add your hosting as part of the package.

It's hard to give it a price since we don't know your target audience - If your selling to businesses $50/month is quite reasonable (maybe even cheap!) - But if your selling to internet marketers, or your average joe you'll be hard pressed to sell above $10/month.

General hosting is super competitive right now, the best way to go is probably an "added value" system.

For instance, you can offer the site installation, design services, and even include some downloads.

But I would suggest first month free, and $9.99 per month.

Be forewarned, Support issues will be a "bear" until you get a good system in place, and assuming your familiar with general server administration, that will make it a whole lot easier.

        Good luck!

I've found with our hosting service that the best thing is to automate as much as you can

Also helps that I have a super efficient webmaster lol
