My three reasons not to quit IM - and what are yours?

Hello World. After spending a lovely day with my beautiful girlfriend yesterday, I'm back in action. But my girlfriend told me something. Something that not only motivated me, but could actually save my relationship with her. That led me to start this thread. I have three major reasons why I will never quit IM, and they are as follows:

1. My girlfriend - She told me that she is turned off by quitters. Which led me to believe that if I quit she will break up with me. Not quit IM in general, but just quit in life. I can't let that happen. I love her dearly (we've been together nearly a year) and I do want to keep it that way.

2. My ego - It isn't huge, but I want to go out there and make the haters and the naysayers eat their words. I have heard for far too long that I simply can't make a living online and that I should get a job. But because I am unemployable I have no choice but to make this work. Plus I want to be the one that gets my entire family back on their feet, and I am confident that IM will let me do it (and then, and only then will I spill the beans to my family as to what I'm actually doing).

3. My music - I love music as much as my girl. It is my dream to become a well known rapper. Of course I will need money to fund that career and I see IM as the way to do that. Plus my music calms me when I'm pissed and lifts me up when I'm depressed.

So there you have it. Do you have your reasons to never quit IM? Those that are already successful at it don't really need to reply but can offer their insight as they wish. This is mainly aimed at those who have had little to no success but can say "quitting ain't an option". Also, if you don't mind, answer the question in my sig too haha.

The only reason online marketing won't work is if one quits. I'm determined to master the right ways of doing things. Reasons:

    1. If I learn the right ways I can teach anyone, all it is really is pressing the correct sequence of buttons. So anyone can do it. I hope to pull people from the local soup kitchen and give them work, help those that need it. Through training those in my team I can influence them to do good deeds as well. The thought of REALLY making it in online marketing and having a massive downline of do-gooders makes me swoooon.

    2. My dream in life is to travel freely. Go anywhere, stay for however long, then at a whim just go somewhere else. If my income is earned off of a computer, I can do that without needing to be unbelievably wealthy. I would also like to go to culinary school, take up dance classes, re-learn piano, learn a few languages, mountain climb, skydive, get back into scuba diving.....you can't do all that slaving over a real job.

    3. Once online marketing is mastered, you will never be out of work, you will ALWAYS be able to earn income, you will never have to worry about retirement. Me likey that mucho much, like fo' rillz, yo.

150+ dollars a year! don't break the bank!

      think you meant k lol

Anyway would be fun to make a thread that people sign-up to. Give people a 3-5 month gap and get them to come back and report on success.

I'd follow that just to see the success to fail ratio.

Or the winner to quitter ratio

      Jay.

    Hi,

Good post. Yes, in my opinion you should never "quit" easily in anything that you try to accomplish. However, if you have invested a certain amount of time and effort but are not seeing results, then you should examine the reasons for your lack of results. Sometimes, you may have to "quit" that and move on to something else.

To give a personal example, I have been involved in MLM (multi-level marketing) many times in different companies previously. I have put in a lot of time and effort to make sales, and build up my groups. Initially, things would seem to go well but sooner or later my downlines would fall apart. Then I would start from scratch again and this kept repeating.

When I did my analysis, I thought that maybe I didn't work hard enough... and worked harder. Maybe the products aren't good enough... and moved to a better company. Maybe the compensation scheme isn't rewarding enough... No matter what I did, nothing seemed to work out.

Finally, I did some deep soul-searching, and hit the nail on the head. I discovered that I was just motivated by the end rewards of a successful MLM career. I didn't really like calling people on the phone. I didn't like selling face-to-face. In fact, I didn't like most of the things that I have to do in order to maintain an MLM lifestyle.

Now I've found what I truly love and want to do for the rest of my life- working with computers and internet marketing. I still struggle and face problems, but nothing is insurmountable because I LOVE every second of what I'm doing now.

So my point is, come up with reasons not to quit. However, look deep inside yourself and ask yourself whether you really love what you're doing now.

Agreed , quitters are never winners.

Threads like these always make me wonder if the OP is more enamored with the romance of being a given 'something', in this case an internet marketer, than actually doing.

I guess the straw that broke the camels' back for me was seeing the subject line, "Would You Be Willing To Die For Internet Marketing?", (or something along those lines).

The bottom line for me is that we all have to spend our days doing something, and if you have to come up with three reasons why you wouldn't quit you probably should re-examine why you're doing something in the first place.

It's not exactly a "Me thinks he doth protest too much", but it sure sounds that way sometimes.

To the OP...I'm glad you're not a quitter.

Me, I want to retire in a few years. No ifs, ands, or buts.

A quote from Cory Rudl come to mind. He said in an interview (with Andrew Fox), that he just couldn't understand why anyone would want to do anything else. Things are quiet for me now but when my Amazon book business was going at its best, and the weather was absolutely awful - I live in Manchester, England - man I didn't need reminding why IM was the only way to go!
