Anyone have experience with this?

This is my second ever post in this forum. I started in the "basement", but at Sal's prompting I "took the elevator" up here. My question is: I have been trying to discover as much as possible about "Affiliate Marketing" - - the type where you have your own web site that contains links to a company site to market that company's products (not MLM or Network Marketing). I know it can be lucrative, but I am specifically looking for someone who is involved and doing well - - are you out there?
