Questions RE: Advanced Wordpress Techniques
I've wrapped my mind around the SEO implications and the use of themes and sidebars to make a pleasant human readable site. I've also developed a heirarchy of categories, parent and child pages, and posts.
Before I bore you to death, here's my question...I've found a plugin that allows you to include posts within pages, thus allowing you to combine similar posts that are made over a period of time into a larger page that is more specific to the topics and keywords involved and 'hopefully' will have more "link Juice" than they would if spread all about the blog.
The only problem I've found with this idea is the duplication of content that occurs when you have a post in one place and then that same text included in a page elsewhere. Whereas we can debate the duplicate content penalty from article directory to blog to squidoo lense, the penalty for the same content on the same site is pretty much recognized.
Is there a plugin or a way of setting up a robots file that will deny spider access to posts that you now want indexed as text within a page elsewhere?
I hope that makes sense because I really want to be able to use a form of this on one of my blogs as it grows more complex, without getting penalized by the search engines.
Thanks,
Steve
