I use the pro version of Pretty Link. It tracks hits and allows you to set up links to your keyword phrase throughout your blog. Blair Williams is the developer and he provides great support for the plugin. I've been happy with the performance so far.

I'm new to IM, and I'm trying link cloaking for the first time.
I've build WP sites selling Halloween costumes. My affiliate links go to BuyCostumes.com (from C.J.). I tried the Pretty Link plugin, and really like it. However, I'm concerned that the plugin might be cloaking my links too well - and hiding my affiliate ID (my PID#) from BuyCostumes too. If my PID# doesn't show up in the address bar when the customer gets to the BuyCostumes site - then I'm not cookied or credited for the sale. Right? If the Pretty Link plugin doesn't work for my purposes, then I need a really newbie-simple link cloaker that works with WordPress. Any advice appreciated. Thanks, Lisa |

I am getting the same thing. Apparently when you get your "free" cloaker the backend OTO is "send 1 email to 3,000 people a day" spam promo. It now I get crap spam emails by the dozen every hour or so despite killing my account.

I am pretty sure Pretty Link lets your cookie show through to the site. I tested it with a couple of mine and my signing up for a free offer showed up in the stats.
Put a comment on Blair's page. He is extremely quick to respond. Pretty Link Pro Landing page Click this link to see how it works. |

Thanks Scott, I'll check with Blair to see if I can get it to work for my purposes.
Weird thing is though, some of my links the cookie shows through and some it does not. I've compared them till I'm crosseyed, but they look the same - cookied or not. ![]() ~Lisa |

I use Wordpress for all my sites and to accomplish cloaking and redirecting - I had to use multiple plugins. After having number of problems and compensate for missing features I decided to write my own plugin - AFLinker that has long all-in-one features list:

Affiliate Link Cloaker + immunity against Google slap + URL Shortener = AFLinker

I think the best link cloaking method is a simple
html redirect. [This is just for noobs who don't know how to do this...] You can simply create a html page where you type in <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <html> <head> <title>Your Page Title</title> <meta http-equiv="REFRESH" content="0;url=http://www.the-domain-you-want-to-redirect-to.com"></HEAD> <BODY> Optional page text here. </BODY> </HTML> and save it as index.html. Then create a folder in your server and put this index file in that folder. So it's going to be like http://www.yoursite.com rfoldername Then it's going to display your index file in yourfoldername folder. Simple, eh?

I don't bother with any tools. I just create an index.php file in notepad and insert this
<?php header("location:http://placeyouraffiliatelinkhere.com"); ?> upload the file to any directory you want |
