I probably shouldn't share this WSO secret with you, but

Hey!

You SILLY SILLY SILLY people!

Listen up.

I just had to do a Google search to find something on the Warrior Forum!

I really like to help people out, and find what they are looking for.

I really like to use the search feature on this forum.

But when you post a WSO and you don't put enough copy in the WSO to fully give me keywords I am looking for, I have a really hard time finding your product!

Silly.

We know the internet works with WORDS.

So why on earth would you skimp on your copy?

A video sales page is fine as long as you really put the right keywords in your title - but you people who are not using videos have no excuse IMO.

And if you do use video, you should add more keywords in the keywords area.

I go looking for stuff all the time - and you know what?

You very likely did not get my attention on your offer when your sales page is one or two sentences and you direct me OFF of the forum to get more information about your product.

You don't want my money? You don't want my help?

No problem.

I'm sure the guy who took the time to write a proper sales page would love my money.

It's not monopoly money.

Ok, that is my little rant and big secret today.

:p

That's common sense in my opinion, but thanks anyway. Newbies may find this very useful if they are going to post their first WSO.

You would be shocked at the number of NON newbies I'm addressing.

But then again, common sense is so uncommon

@ Jill: Pretty basic stuff, but something that would usually escape our minds. Wow, do I really love this place or what! Something new to learn every time I log on to the site, and especially this Discussion section. Thanks

I've actually found that redirecting potential buyers to
a video off the WF has increased my conversions. A lot.

...But then again, maybe my copy just sucked.

Ah, you are missing the big point here.

I'm not talking about your ability to convert - I'm talking about finding your offer in the first place.

That first page in the WSO's is moving at the speed of sound - soon to be the speed of light.

I will browse it sometimes, but most times I don't bother and I do a search for the specific thing I am looking for.

You may be losing customers who could never find you in the first place - unless of course you want to waste money bumping your offer every 5 minutes.

I went with the SEO title version for my wso to get that little extra traffic and hopefully sales!

Meaning that even when my WSO isn't on page one or two i could still potentially be getting sales too.

I rarely ever browse the WSO pages for the same reason as you, too hard to find what you're looking for. And also a ton of garbage to wade through.

Warrior Forum gets very high placement in google search results... that includes the WSO section too. It would be wise to consider using buying keywords in the thread title.

There's so much money to be had for those who can master this.

      Yes, it does.

I just googled my keyword terms, and my WSO was not only #1 but it also overshadowed other ones on the same topic (they show down below it).

Like I said, maybe I shouldn't share secrets like this.

Hey, I'm willing to admit this is not the only marketing forum on the web and not the only place people will look for information or content.

If I'm going to pop up an offer, I want it in front of as many eyeballs as possible.

I understand the dilemma of doing a title to get eyes to click in with word like "shocking, never seen before, once in a lifetime" - but I'm not searching for shocking, never seen before blah blah blah.

It is something people really should think about before posting their offers.

If you can sneak in some emotional catch then great - but more important is real keywords that are going to help people find you.

And this applies for much more than just this forum and the WSO's.

Not only does using keywords help a WSO get found when it's still live, it also helps the author get found (via WarriorPlus) after the WSO is gone. There have been so many times I've searched for a specific WSO weeks or months later and couldn't find it because it was no longer live, I couldn't remember the author, and the author didn't use common keywords.

For example, the WSO was about affiliate marketing, but the author used the term "associate marketing" instead. And I'm too dumb to think of entering those alt keywords into my search.

So yeah, I'm with ya on this.

    Cheers,
    Becky
