Feedback needed on website

Hi Folks,

I am ready to open myself up to some serious bashing, My son has a brick and mortar business and I have been trying to get this site ranked well. I tried editing his existing pages and I am ranking pretty well compared to what I was doing a month ago.

I decided to try and just redesign the site using most of his content just rewording it, so I put up another site.

Looking for some input if you folks have a few minutes to spare.

Please give me your opinions of the two sites.

I would also like your opinion on what willl happen if I replace the exsting site with the new site... IE: Will my ranking drop or do you think they will increase.

I am new to SEO and SEM, just looking for advice as well as am I on the right track.

    I took a look at both the .net and .com version

    Only time will tell how they will rank, though I can see a few differnces already in the new version page titles and url titles

    The question I would ask is why are you changing?

    One thing I would maybe like to suggest is providing some headline incentive for your business. Something that makes you stand out from the other services

    Also instead of just having photos, Have a video section showing before and after. It doesn't take long to video, pop it on youtube or vimeo and you might kill 2 birds with one stone. i.e presenting to local geographic customers your work and possibley generating leads through the video site ( vimeo, youtube etc )

    Also I would be trying to determine and track where your current customers are finding you and how this all plays into having a site.

    Take a peek at what your competition is doing as well and what is working for them.

    It's one thing to put up a site and get traffic from people who just happened to be searching for something and your page had a word or phrase that was part of their search, and there is another to target those who specifically are after your service

    I would leave the word "only" out of this sentence at the bottom: We have only five full time employees.

    You might change that paragraph to something along these lines:
    We have five crew leaders that are trained in all aspects of landscaping. They also attend seminars every fall with SIMA, Rainbird, EPHenry, Aquarius and other vendors so they can keep our crews abreast of changing practices in our industry. We pride ourselves on doing the job right.. the First Time.

      I changed titles and some other phrases because I would liked to get ranked higher for certain phrases related to contractor. This should target ppl looking to hire

      Do either of you have any input on implementing the new site in place of the old one?? Will the search engines penalize the site because the content changed suddenly.

      I have done a lot of back linking which hasn't shown up in the search results yet, but this has been done to the root of the domain

      Thoughts / Comments??
