Editing Video PLR With Your Info - What Call-to-Action, etc would you add?

Recently I purchased Matt Bush's Local Business Marketing video series which is geared towards local business owners. It's a PLR product that I want to modify to promote my company. What would you do to modify Video PLR like this?

My thoughts at this point are:

  1. My company logo briefly at the beginning
  2. My company logo and URL at the end. With Camtasia I can even add an automatic jump to a URL. I know this isn't allowed on YouTube, though.

How would you make this kind of Video PLR your own? What call to action would you add? Would you add an automatic jump to a URL?

    Watermark the whole thing.

Make a png transparent file, go light on the lettering and pop the address down in the right corner.

Without seeing the actual vids, I'm unsure what call to action, etc to use.

I'd likely set up a site with a contact form where people can email questions. Also, if this video is going out on a dvd or something I'd put a phone # to contact at the end.

Like I said, don't know the videos so hard to say what else to do.

Oh, if you want to put this on youtube, just add the link in the first line of the description. You can add a slide at the end of the youtube vid that says "go to http:xxxxxxxxx for help in the mystate area"

      Hey Chris-

I like Jill's idea of the watermark, but rather than a watermark I would add a full blown new header at the top of the video all the way across the top with your logo, or course title.

      Maybe something like....

"Marketing Your Austin Business On The Internet"

or something else that mentions Austin.

You can create that video header image in Photoshop and then just lay it across the top or the bottom of the video as a PIP in Camtasia for the full duration of the video and then simply re-render the video.

It's a great and easy way to totally rebrand the video!

If you want to really step it up you can easily recreate the included audio track with your own voice.

Scrub the existing audio and lay yours into the video. This would allow you to also use your city name in the video a few times which would be great to show your prospects that you are from Austin also, and not just sending out a generic video to the whole country.

It is super easy to re-voice a Camtasia video if you have a PC and a laptop.

Just open the videos on the laptop with some head phones plugged into the laptop, and open the main source videos on your desktop in Camtasia.

Start an audio track #2 for recording your new audio and then hit the play button on your laptop at the same time you hit record on your desktop.

Then just speak what you are hearing in the headphones from your laptop into the microphone on your desktop. You have to be careful the volume is not too loud in the head phones so your mic does not pick it up. (it will take a little practice the first time or two, but it's easy with a little practice, I have done this a few times)

The cool thing about this is that you will get most of the audio message that Matt did, but you can change up any audio parts you wish as you go all while branding the videos to your home city of Austin at the same time!

I would also have the videos transcribed for a few bucks over at Rent A Coder, then create a white sheet on your site that you offer for free with an optin.

I am sure you already know that once you have their email address you can start really selling your prospects on how you can help them market their Austin based business online.

Good luck with your new project!

      Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy and Jill for your great answers! You've both helped me figure out a great way to customize the videos in a smart way.

I tried your above method of recording an audio track in my own voice, while listening to the original voice from the video (Matt Bush). My voice track ended up sounding like an interpreter translating - little inflection or emotion to keep the listener engaged.

Here's how I figured out how to add my voice to the Matt Bushes videos.

Changing Matt Bush Offline Business Owner Video:

        1. Use AOA Audio Extractor and extract the audio as a MP3 file
        2. Open Dragon Naturally Speaking (ver 10). Click on "Sound, Transcribe recording.... Find the MP3 file and start the process.
        3. Copy and paste the transcription into a new Word document. Luckily the transcription is fairly accurate.
        4. Double click on Matt Bush video and immediately stop. Resize the VNC player and Word onto the same screen
        5. Restart video and be making corrections in the Word document while listening. Add in paragraphs breaks, etc.
        6. Review the completed transcription and see where you could plug in some local keywords e.g. "Austin"
        7. Create a new Project file in Camtasia. Import Matt Bush avi video file. Silence Audio 1 (Matt's voice).

Record Audio 2 while reading the final transcription (containing local keywords).
For me, I've completed one video so far with this method and it has worked out well without a much hassle.

Taking the time to rebrand these videos as your own goes a long way in appearing more professional.

I know it differs from video creation to video creation, but with my series it is easy to edit the graphic header that sits above the actual video. You could alternatively create an entirely new background if you wish as well.

I also think that having a clear call to action at the end of the video is important. This could even be an arrow pointing to the right, which could be where you have your autoresponder signup.

    Good luck!

    Matt
