Default Another attempt - Does this mean anything in your anchor text?

I found this on Nick's Traffic Tricks web site. He uses an anchor text link that opens up a box where you can Stumble his site. The anchor text includes something I've noticed in blogs that allow you to convert text into links. What I want to know is if this is important or can I eliminate this part? The part I'm referring to is bitly="BITLY_PROCESSED"

That code is also included in the anchor text link to Retweet on Twitter.

Code:
If you found this helpful, <a bitly="BITLY_PROCESSED" href="http://www.stumbleupon.com/submit?url=http://nickstraffictricks.com/1537_free-back-links-to-your-site/&amp;title=FREE+Back+Links+To+Your+Site" target="_blank">would you mind stumbling this page?</a>
