Hub Pages Getting With the Program!

I love the way Hub Pages is now building some variety for the Hubbers.

One thing Squidoo really had on them was the variety of modules you could choose from to really build a unique page for yourself.

Now Hub Pages has added a Poll capsule! Slow growth, but growth nonetheless.

I love polls.

Only problem is...they can't be hyperlinked like they can on Squidoo!

Sigh. If only I knew how to create a social site...

I like HubPages better too. Search engines seem to pick up the pages quicker with them.

I'm finding my squidoo sites take a while to build momentum but then they easily outrank my hubpages sites.

Of course it helps now squidoo have dofollow links. I hasn't checked out hubpages recently so I will try out the poll option now.

          Cheers

Hello FWIW, hyperlinks are easy on any page the icon is available nearly on everything these days Hubpages are great, so is Squidoo what's not to like about FR-EE that's real FR-EE! without any catches of "Opt ins"

What do you mean by hyperlinking a Squidoo poll, Tiffany?

I like both sites but I'll always have a soft spot for Squidoo. It took me a while to warm up to hub pages but I am starting to understand that site a lot better.

Chris, yeah you can socialize on Ning - I have one for my Building an eBook Empire customers, but I mean build my own social network - my Ning, if you will. Lol Even with Ning, you have to use what they give you.

Jan & Michael, I don't like HubPages better than Squidoo - not by a long shot. Most of my lenses perform better in the SERPs than my Hubs. It has some perks, like the way you can add capsules without having to click a page that says Add Capsules, and the reordering is nice (speed), but Squidoo is still far better IMO.

Kevin, on hyperlinking a Squidoo poll. You know the same HTML code you use to create a text hyperlink? You can use that in your poll choice answers. So for instance, ask a question like, "What's the best guide for PPC marketing?" Then hyperlink your answers to various CB and PDC products on the topic. Visitors can click through before or after they participate. Good thing is, they see what everyone else voted as #1 and they too want to buy it.

I like Squidoo and Hubpages, too. And both places will keep growing, I'll bet.

It would be neat to have your own SN with a developer on staff, etc. Awesome

It's also nice to see that HubPages are (finally) allowing authors to put HTML into their Text capsule (requires enabling in profile). Still not as flexible as Squidoo though, where you can use inline CSS on your lenses to make them look really hot.
