Can you social bookmark web pages or just articles?

I was wondering if it is acceptable to bookmark your homepage and/or other pages of your website on social bookmarking sites, or if only articles are allowed. It looks like Digg is all articles and I know they kind of frown on self promotional stuff. Are some sites more lenient than others? What is the generally accepted practice for social bookmarking?

You can social bookmark anything you want ... Including bookmarking your bookmarks ... bookmarking your rss feeds... bookmarking your videos, profiles, and etc.

You can bookmark every page of your webpage, specially if you have some good content on them. Be sure to use a catchy title to attract more people.

Bookmark what you want. I regularly bookmark every page at about a dozen different places. I've also seen IMers have several memberships at Digg or some other place and bookmark the same pages on all of them.

Yeah, I've actually learned a lot from James. In fact, I started bookmarking more based on the things he has said in other threads.

For some reason I had got it in my head that you could only bookmark articles, but then I started thinking "why not pages? They have good information on them too". I'm glad I asked. I have some bookmarking to do.

      Thanks all.

        That's great to hear mate.

If you havent already, check out James Article Productions forum... it's the best forum I've seen on article marketing in particular and social bookmarking and other web 2.0 strategies I've been involved with.

    You can socialbook mark anything.

However, I have heard conflicting information regarding SENuke bookmarking of sites. One guy told me never to socially bookmark your main site with SENuke (instead just do the web2.0 properties) because it will actually decrease SERPs if you socially bookmark your main site.

Another guy said that there was no problem, you could just do SENuke bookmarking normally for your main site.

In any case, if you are doing it all manually, I don't think you'll have any problems.

yes you can bookmark your internal pages.

Afterall every page is capable of generating traffic from google & other sources
by bookmarking your internal pages you are creating more opportunities for google to scan and rank your pages

    All the Best

    Hi RanD,

I can't tell you any new in your thread just to bookmark anything you like. I have tried to bookmark a link I can't remember but I think it was an affiliate link and the link was rejected!

So you can't really bookmark affiliate links! Bu you can read their TOS to find out what allowed and what is not.

    Be good
