Mental blocks in going for an iMac or Macbook... I am a PC!

For internet marketers, is it really OK to go for a Mac? I am used to Windows so much... like paint, notepad and other applications. I have also got used to creating videos in camtasia. Now going for a mac is a big mental block.

Those who have been there, let me know whether it is worth it to go for a mac...

    Just do it.

There will of course be a short period of adjustment and learning while you get used to different apps and the OS, but really........its a no brainer - you'll be so, so glad you changed, and wonder how on earth you worked in the madness of PCs for so long.

Of course, this question will ignite an age-old debate, but very rarely does anyone regret it.

I would not do it, why would you?

If you get windows 7 your in much better hands.
I'm using win 7 on all my computers and have bean since the beta came out like 1 year ago, and I have had 1 crash and that was with the first beta.

    My pc's run like dreams

If your loaded then just buy a mac for fun and see how you feel about it.

I have used Mac the last 5 years. It runs great. Though if you want to run all your IM software....It can be a pain having to switch back and forth between Mac OS and Windows OS. I have used Fusion which allows windows Applications to run with Mac apps but it is really glitchy and sometimes crashes the computer. For these reasons I am switching back to PC for a little while. Plus I want to get a netbook which is so much smaller and lighter then my Macbook.

It doesn't really sound like you want one that badly to spend the money on a Mac.

Anybody who's using a Mac is going to say "Yes" and everybody who doesn't have a Mac is going to say "No". Since 85% of the population uses PCs, which do you suspect will get more votes?

Personally speaking, this is like saying, "I've been driving the same Chevy Impala all my life. I'm thinking about switching to a Ford F-150 truck."

You can run any Windows app on a Mac under Parallels or VMWare Fusion, so you wouldn't be losing anything. Just gaining a ton of better tools.

I was a PC all the way until Vista came out. Ironically, as I type this, I'm watching that Windows 7 commercial with the French guy. I run VM Fusion on my Mac for Windows stuff....on XP . This works GREAT for me, but again I recognize the steep cavern that runs between these two platforms.

I love my mac, but if your doing IM you'll definitely need parallels installed or someother virtualization software so you can also run windows for all the IM software you have. Kindof a pain i must admit.
