Gimmicky and "Salesy" Emails

It is funny when JVs come out how many duplicate or near-duplicate emails I get. I really don't read them. Personally I am more likely to open an email if the subject line clearly hints at what is being offered. I guess, "shocked at you," "bad news," "site will shut down tonight" and other such bait subject lines work, with email body that sneakily leads into something for sale like a creative used car salesman, since there are so many of them. From left field, I guess it's like when Pablo Picasso came up with a cubist style painting, suddenly every artist was painting cubism. But, when it's not an actual Picasso...

I totally agree. Anymore, all those "catchy" subject lines actually turn me off. Unless it's someone I know, they end up in the trash.

Yeah I agree. Those subject lines might have worked the first couple of times, but when you see them over and over it gets old fast. I automatically hit delete when I see them.
