Backlinking Questions

Hello Everyone I have A question about how long it generally takes to actually be given credit for the backlinks that you create? I realize that it can vary based upon what type of backlink it is. But I have been noticing that I have some backlinks that have been indexed by google that I am not seeing reflected in my totals.

This site is 3 weeks old so im not sure if it takes longer or what but I have got several articles indexed including ezine, article alley, go articles and they are indexed but not reflecting in my link totals for the site. I have noticed that I also have some profile links indexed as well as A blogger blog indexed with anchor text but those arent reflected in my totals when I go to backlink watch or look at my site in niche research commando.

Am I suffering from some type of google slap? Or does it just take more time for me to receive credit for the backlinks even though some of them have been indexed?

Thanks
Rick

Take all the back link checking tools with a grain of salt. They don't ever show you "every" back link you have.

Also it depends on the activity of the site you placed your link on. If it is getting updated with fresh content on a daily basis the SES will be there indexing the sight often and find your links.

Bookmark the pages where you have your backlinks to a few socialbookmarking sites. Check if they have a RSS feed to submit to RSS Directories and aggregators (for example, you can submit your Ezinearticle's Autor Profile Page RSS feed).

I assume that you are using Yahoo Site Explorer to find the number of backlinks. I would also suggest Google WebMaster Tools for checking your backlinks (signing up and site verification is required).

New site generally get held back a little if you are building lots of backlinks at the start. Just keep on creating fresh content along with consistent backlinking. Don't worry too much about what the backlink checkers show. What you should be checking is your serp. For new sites, don't worry too much about your site floating around. Sometimes it will be on page one and then look like it is sandboxed the next day. Consistent promotion and unique content will most likely result in a solid ranking posisition over time.

    Cheers

You got to know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em,
Know when to walk away and know when to run.
You never count your links when you're sittin' at the table.
There'll be time enough for countin' when the dealin's done.

Hi, You don't want to spend too much time checking your backlinks...you just want to know that they are in place and working.

Also be sure you have as many backlinks (internal links) from page to page on your website (sitelinks)with your keywords as the anchor text to each page. This also assist with PageRank.

Assuming you have a group of targeted keywords...right?
