Interview with FTC official on new guidelines

I watched a video of some length tonight, I even stayed up late to finish it as it was so interesting. I wanted to share it with my fellow Warriors. The discussion is on the new guidelines on blogging and testimonials. I know we had a lot of discussion on this and how it would impact us in our endeavors to sell products using review sites, and this kind of clears up any misconceptions that anyone might have. One of the things that I learned is that these rules are not new, the guidelines were just put out to try and clarify what the rules were. Give it a watch and I think you will enjoy it and benefit from it. I know I came away learning something that I was very unsure of. The link is below.

    Thanks for the post. A lot of these regulations are things you'd only have a problem with if you're doing something you shouldn't be doing. Most of us would never show up on the FTC radar without doing something to deserve it, but this is pretty useful information.

    I like the info on testimonials. We all know many of these are fudged, it would be nice to see some cracking down on this.

    Glad you liked it Jeremy. I agree, most of us would never fall under the FTC radar. But it is easy to make a mistake and not realize it, and they understand that. They are pretty bright folks, most of the time, and can tell the difference between someone that made a mistake and someone that set out to try and scam someone.

    The FTC fellow gave us all the information to comply, and it is pretty easy to do so.
