[Aweber] How do u exclude someone from receiving your broadcast?

Hey Warriors,

Basically, I've a list of buyers who have already bought my stuff and I do not want them to receive my email broadcast pitching the product which they've already bought. How do I do that? I understand that in Aweber, there's a function to segment my list based on actions they taken/not taken but is there no way to segment MANUALLY?

Thanks in advance

Viane

    Hi Viane,

A few ways to do this, depending on how you've structured the list/s in your
account, how many products you have and how fine-grained you want to go:

    1. Use an automation rule to get customers on a separate list from prospects.

This method is most useful when (a) you have one main product and (b) you
want to send both unique follow ups and unique broadcasts. You may
also want to combine this with the exclude lists feature, particularly if you
think that people may be signing up to your prospect list even after
    they've bought from you.

    2. Use the suppression list feature to temporarily prevent certain subscribers
(that you designate) from receiving broadcasts. Add people to the suppression
list, send your broadcast, then after it's sent remove them from the
suppression list. Requires manual uploading/pasting of email addresses.

    3. Create a segment based on who did/didn't purchase from you, and then
    broadcast to it.

This is kind of like #1, but is different in that (a) it only enables you to send
unique broadcasts (not follow ups) and (b) it doesn't require the subscriber
to join a separate list. If you use this, you'll need to decide what criteria to
use to separate customers from prospects (a custom field can do the trick
here, as can our sale tracking feature).

Hope this helps! Get in touch with us if you have any questions.
