Changing my business model. Need advice.

I have made a decision that I hope will improve my productivity. I realise that I spend a lot of my time attempting tasks that to be honest I'm not really good at.
So its time to change my approach. I am going to build a team of experts around me that I can pay when I need them.
What do you think is the best way to go about this?

I would imagine that just about every service will be covered by fellow warriors.

For each person you hire, you have to spend time developing your relationship with them so that their goals are also your goals, and they understand what you expect. All of my best people took at least a year to develop to the point where they were clearly profitable for me, but it was well worth it! Often you have to go through a few people before you get that person that has a great attitude and is good at what they do. So my advice to you would be to work with some people, and learn what you like and don't like, and then you should start to find some traction over time with a couple of them.

    Andy,

I for one won't expect these experts to prioritize the tasks I need them to do for me, even time-sensitive tasks, nor would I think they'd stick with me long term, provide the best work output value while they're working with me and solely focus on my projects if you just "pay them when you need them".

    Why?

If I were them, I'd ask myself:

=>> If I weren't given the security of constant work for constant pay, a competitive and rewarding working environment, daily on-the-job training and extensive once-a-week hands-on training, access to the right equipment, tools and technology, employee benefits, employee insurance, mindset formation and common company/personal goal developmental sessions, paid sick leaves, vacation breaks and holidays, rewards for great work, quick promotions for consistent great work, etc., then...

=>> why would I choose to prioritize this employer's tasks, stick around for the long run and consistently provide the best work output value over ===

=>> using my time to find a different employer offering everything above (or to establish then run my own business)?

    Andy,

I wouldn't do this without any contracts or proof that you can deliver regular work, if you asked me. Though if you have the right contacts and enough work, you can negotiate better prices and conditions.

Maybe it's better to ask for JV partners on the area's you can't cover yourself. For easy tasks, outsourcing or an assistant is an option.

See if you can create 'monkey' systems. A step-by-step process that's so easy even a monkey could complete it. Hand those to your outsourcing team or assistant.

When you have a thriving business, or a very good idea with facts and figures to convince people - then you can get some incredible partners at the Warrior Forum or other forums.

If you need anything, let me know.

    Hi Andy,

I do some work for large clients, often brainstorm with them and point them in certain directions if the tasks they want completed cant be done by myself for whatever reason.

What kind of work are you wanting to get completed by others, what are your weak areas, if you list them here, I am sure between all of us we should be able to send you to starting points at least.

If you want to spend half an hour on Skype chat, I would be willing.
