What's the best and cheapest Reseller Host?

Hello everyone,

I am looking to finally take action and start building affiliate sites (including my very own personal blog to put my ramblings and document my progress)

I want to know what is the best, lowest cost reseller host?

The reason I want to sign up for a reseller's account instead of a regular one, is because I think it's going to make the process that much easier to manage multiple mini-sites.

If each of them have their own cPanel that I can access and install wordpress with 1-click-install via Fantastico, it should be much easier than having to deal with adding addon domains and all of that other as folders under 1 main domain.

So far, the two host providers I have in mind are ResellerZoom.com and HostClear.com.

Can anyone suggest better providers or if you have accounts with any of these two, are they good? Would you recommend?

Thanks to those who reply.

ResellerZoom doesn't have a stellar history, and I haven't heard of hostclear. I would always recommending going through the webhostingtalk.com forum a little to research the host you are considering. Of late, I really like site5.com. They have been under new ownership for about a year, and have exceeded my expectations.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

In my experiences, the words "best" & "cheapest" are rarely used together when describing a service....
For the most part, the best is never the cheapest....& the cheapest is never the best.

I wouldn't recommend "the cheapest" hosting you can get. Think in terms of time you might need to spend on solving problems that can appear with "the cheapest service" and if their customer service can help you manage them.

I use Hostgator for my online business. They are not the cheapest but their services are one of the best on the market. I would not change for any other hosting provider

I run two different reseller hosting accounts (each under $10 a month). Cheap reseller hosting is better for people who are more tech savvy because tech support isn't the best when you are paying such a low price.

If you want the names of the companies I use contact me privately, I won't post them here because I don't want newbies to use them just because they are cheap and then end up with problems because they have never used WHM before.

I am not sure what you mean by making it easier but one of my accounts is with hostmonster and I have about 20 domains there. One is the Main account domain but I don't even have a site on that yet. I have a lot of WP sites set up that are all addons.
When I go to install WP I use c-panel and it just brings up a drop down menu with all the domains listed and I install it on the next one I want to use. It is very simple and I just create a new folder in the _public HTML folder to put the new site. I don't see how having a reseller hosting account will make it any easier, you would still need to go through the same steps wouldn't you?

Hmm. Is it really as simple as this with a regular hosting account then? I'm new to website building so I just thought that having the option for each site to have it's own cPanel should simply things a lot for someone like me.

Also, the other reason would be that if some of my websites don't perform too good in 3-4 months, having a separate cPanel would make it much easier to sell the website right? If it's under a main domain, how would you go about that? Transferring it to another host for someone, making sure they get all the site files, etc?

I really appreciate everyone's input. Thank you all.
