Website Flipping...

I know there is an all-in-one thread for this and I intend to get most of my information there. However, one question I have had that isn't covered is this:

If you have a website with a free theme on it are you allowed to sell that website WITH the usage of the free theme?

for example I own a website | Your Health Care Answer and I am looking to sell it. However it is using the free version of the flexibility 2 theme as well as some syndicated content (links kept) and some embedded content.

Would it be possible to advertise this as a website for sale as is? Or do I have to remove everything and advertise it as a domain name for sale...


Second question:

Once I find a buyer how do I transfer the ownership of the website too them? I know how to transfer domain name ownership, but that doesnt leave the website intact since wordpress would be removed (no longer on my hosting).

Is there a way to transfer the website as is and get it off of my hosting? Or do I just have to transfer the domain and then give them instructions to set everything back up the way it was...

Any advice on this would be GREATLY appreciated as I have two or three websites that I have no use for and would like to get rid of so that I can use the money as seed money for something else.

    q1: I think you can just sell the site as long as you leave the backlink on the theme, and probably state in your sale that you are using that theme. It's like you are selling wordpress site, you don't have to remove wordpress to sell the site, although wordpress itself is free.

    q2: you transfer the domain to the new owner, and then either give the buyer access to the site and they transfer everything themselves, or send them all the files to your site if you dont want them to access the server. But the easiest way would be just give them 1 month hosting on your current host and let them move it.

    Okay so as I understand it, I transfer the domain to them and then just send them all the files pertaining to the site? That seems simple enough (i hope)

    Ahh I see, thanks alot guys. This is all starting to make sense now. Now all I have to do is go out there and sell the websites and use the methods you guys have outlined for me. I truly appreciate it.

    First question : Theme looks good the way it is at the moment but I will advise you to consider rewriting the content to make them unique.

    People are more interested in unique content than Plr articles ( except for autoblogs ). I will also advise you to spend some time ( say 7 days ) to do a little promotion for the site.

    In the past, it is easy to sell a blog like yours with 10 unique or plr articles for as much as $199 but these days, you will be lucky to get someone to buy such sites or $80.

    Do some social bookmarking, write some articles and submit them to article directories and try to make some sales - ouch, I am giving out some of the tips in my ebook..got to stop here.

    As for the second question, I can't answer that as I am one of those site flippers who still do not know how to transfer the files. There are ebooks on how to do it but I have never been bothered to learn it.

    Search for "how to transfer wordpress blog" on google, I am sure something good will come up.

      Those are all awesome ideas. My main reason for using plr and syndicated content is the fact that I have no real knowledge of the health care system so I am not able to write quality unique information about it. My plan was to outsource that aspect once I got a few leads (it's monetized by cpa) however that never happened haha.

      For this reason I am not able to promote with articles. I definitely will spend a week or two promoting through other methods such as bookmarks, pings, and feeds but I am somewhat lost as to what other methods I can use (that don't cost me anything).

      I had an idea to download videos from youtube and repost them on other video sites (giving credit to the creator and linking to the original video of course) and then placing my link in the info section under "video distributed by:" but I never tried it out and am not entirely sure if I am allowed to do that.

      My goal is to get about $500 or so in seed money by selling some of my assets and offering services so anything that I can do to increase the value of this site (and others) would be absolutely great.

    There are plenty of folks over at elance.com that will do the transferring of the site for you for a reasonable price. If you post a request on Warrior Forum, I am sure you can find someone also. I have seen folks do that in the past. So if you are nervous about transferring the files correctly, just ask for help. I have never done it, but I believe it has a certain process to do it right.
