Adobe Premiere Pro!!!

Hey guys, I have some experience with adobe premiere pro and video editing/creation. However I don't have a copy of the software or the money to buy it.

I was thinking of offering some video creation services since video marketing is getting so popular but I don't have premiere to start out.

So my question is whetehr or not there is a free version of premiere.

What i mean by this is:

Camtasia's free version = camstudio

Is there something like that for premiere pro?

Hi Gclunis, not sure if this is helpful to you but have you tried a basic Google search? I put in "Adobe Premiere Pro free" and saw a lot of pages come up. Adobe offers 30 day trial versions. But I'm not sure Adobe has a free version of any of their software. They eventually want customers to purchase the package I believe. Of course you can purchase Premiere Pro as a standalone product. You can also buy the entire CS4 suite which costs $2500 and includes everything from Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, etc.

    Gclunis,

I assume you meant Adobe Acrobat pro? If so, not that I know of. Adobe used to have a trial version where you could create X amount of PDF documents, but I'm not sure they still have that offer or if the trial has full functionality.

You can check on Adobe's site ... that's what I would do.

A good alternative to the Adobe Acrobat Pro would be Open Office - I believe it does PDF docs too.

As far as any of the Premier suites go, no, none of them have trial versions.

        Gclunis,

Oh okay, now I am with you. My mistake.

I sent a PM to you a second ago. Please disregard it.

It seems to me Josh Anderson mentioned a couple of free editing programs that do a nice job in different posts. You might want to check out his profile and run thru some of his posts. Maybe you can find them that way.

        Hope this helps ...

    Hey Hanz

I have tried a google search but I may not have searched the right thing. I know about the 30 day trial but as I understand it comes with alot of limitations that would stop me from doing my best work for clients :[

This was why I wanted to know if anyone knew of any freeware program that functioned similarly. It doesn't have to be premiere just something that has similar features.

Adobe premiere elements was on sale at office depot for like $49 and it was so poor. The copy I got must have been an older version. It did not support AVCHD HD or newer. Kept asking me for a missing plug in. I use sony vegas.

There are many free video editing softwares that I can recommend like virtual dub.

Free video editing software list for all platforms.

Gclunis, alright I just did a basic search for Adobe Premiere Pro on eBay. Unfortunately if you were to buy a legitimate/legal copy of the software, you'd have to shell out at least $300.
But on the bright side is the fact that you seemingly are comfortable using the software and even better...people are needing videos created more and more in Internet Marketing. So if you really want to provide a service of creating videos, then the $300 or more which you spend on buying the software will easily be worth it.

Edit: oops, I just read that you don't have the money to buy it. Ok, scratch my post. LOL! Try to search for something less expensive. How about camtasia studio? Save up for it till you can afford to buy Premiere Pro.

Avoid the "elements" package. It's like a completely different program from what I've seen compared to the full version I use.

    Hi Gclunis,
Co-incidentally I was chatting today with a friend - we have worked on multi-camera shoots and short-features together. I've also done voiceovers for multi-billion £ PLC's.

We were laughing about the standard of many www sales / instructional videos that we had seen. Not about 'visual quality' but production values.
I watched 3 tutorial videos yesterday for some software that I downloaded - great software! Great info! Terrible video!

When the guy made a mistake - No "Cut! Let's go again..." Just "Err, Oh, Ah yeah... didn't mean to click there... Oh, wait a minute... Here we go..."

I think any VE software (even free) used properly will give adequate results to blow many others out of the water!

    Go for it buddy!!

P.S. I've just checked out Premier Elements (50ish $ / £ on Amazon) and it gets mixed reviews
from "...video editing is good, facilities excellent..."
    to
    "crashes every 10 mins"

(I'm thinking of getting the old mixer and camera out of the spare room myself!!)

You can download Adobe Premiere as a 30 day trial. It works 100%, no limitations to my knowledge.. just work fast <g>

If you go Mac you can get final cut express pretty cheap.

Really, depending on what your doing, you can accomplish a lot with Camtasia studio which will allow you to import avi and mov files.

    Plenty of options.
