Link wheels - glaringly obvious?

I just found this interesting report (no affiliation) on the visibility of link patterns. The research is a few years old, but shows how easy it might be to detect "unnatural linking".

What do search engine spammers look like?

Digging a little deeper I found some fun stuff over at Yahoo labs:

Graph Partitioning | Yahoo! Research

It gets a bit technical but should be interesting for anyone in SEO.

Anyway, a valid excuse to be more chaotic.

Happy sunday,
Alex.

With my link wheels I never build them the same, don't even make real wheels, just link things together and add to them as I go, and keep a record of how many pages and which have links to them etc - never make a standard wheel, as yes, it just wouldn't be natural.
