    BJ,

My own personal opinion, unless you create a great Reseller website, being a webhost reseller is not a money maker. You can make more by simply referring people to host gator as an affiliate.

I have a dedi server now, however, the reason to choose a reseller account is if you'd ever consider flipping sites or want to group your own sites into "reseller" accounts. This segments them off so you don't have one huge list of domains on your account.

    Hope that makes sense.

It is vital to have a reseller hosting account as an internet marketer. Shared/add on accounts are treated differently that reseller accounts.

If you have all of your domains just "added on" and one of them gets reported for SPAMMING (or some other complaint that might not even be true) then all of your sites get taken offline while it is investigated. If it was in a reseller account then only the reported site is taken down.

I have two reseller hosting accounts that both cost about $10 a month. I like knowing that even if my one hosting company had issues I would still have half my sites up and running.

i like the idea of having multiple accounts...for protection of your sites...but the idea of having 100's of username and passwords for each account is crazy...

is this how most of you guys (who have MANY websites) do it?

In a bit of a panic here - my sites are down on Hostgator and it's not the first time in the last couple of months.

Seeing the wisdom of having more than one hosting company (doy) - would really really appreciate your recommendations.

@rmholla tried to PM you to see re. your $10 service you like - but I am but a lowly low posting player (will fix that here shortly) and don't get to PM yet LOL.

Need a cpanel/whm reseller account that's uber reliable - the one I have used to be ... think I'm on a limping server or something they don't want to admit.

Just looking to reduce my risk here.

    Thanks mucho,
    Andrea

If you're not using Roboform, that's a great way to go to help you manage your info at your various sites.

Although I'll never be in the hundreds of websites category (won't ever need that many), for security reasons I always create a new account for my sites. That way if you have a security issue, hopefully it will only be limited to just one of your sites.

I've never had an issue with hostgator personally (I have their reseller account). You may also want to consider going bigger such as a dedicated server if you need one and can afford it.
