search engine listing

Whenever I build a new site, the search engines usually list my sites without the (www) infront of the domain name.

How should I set up my pages so that the search engines can list my site with the (www) infront of the domain name?

Has it got to do with the name server in any way or the hosting company?

I saw a post on the WF forum a few days ago about that. People were suggesting to add the URL you want your site to be seen, on Google Webmaster Tools. That`s all I remember though but if you do a little search, hopefully you can find it.

      Thanks Alex.

I made that post you are referring to on the "ask the seo guy anything" thread.

What im really asking is how to get a www listing without having to go down the google webmaster path.
