Wordpress Loading Issue

Has anyone had a Wordpress blog...all of a sudden...have a problem loading? Blog was working and then I answered the door for another Girl Scout cookie delivery. When I tried to load my blog again...it just sat there and the screen said, "...Loading".

I haven't got in since. After a lengthy timeout...the screen said something about a database error.

Does anyone know if this is temporary due to something going on at my host?

Thanks!

See if you can access your host's website for any outage updates. Sometimes I get this loading problem and it seems to go away if I restart my browser. Can't tell you why, really strange.

Then ask your own host about their database server. Nobody here in the forum is able to give you any meaningful answer based on what you posted. The database where all your posts, Pages, comments and settings are stored - is on the host's server. Nothing we can do about it. Sorry.

Istvan is right... if that's all the message you have, then we don't have enough information to give you any hints on what the problem *might* be.

Contacting your host would be the best solution.

Honestly though, it could just be a glitch in the system. Give it a few minutes and see what happens.

But DONT re-install until the source is identified. I've had hacked blogs that go blank, and a re-install won't solve it unless you wipe everything clean, correct permissions, and seal the back door they found.

If you get more information, let us know, and maybe one of us with lot's O wordpress experience can help you out...

If you have just started the blog and don't have allot of content posted, I would advise just completely deleting the blog and installing a fresh one from scratch.

I think this would save you allot time over trying to trouble shoot the problem, and possibly not get anywhere with it.

That just doesn't make sense, sorry.

If a database server is not functioning properly... you can delete the blog 1,000 times and it will still not work.

Delete and start from scratch... it's a "solution" suggested by amateur beginners.

Definitely bad advice, don't pay any attention to it. As Istvan and Matt have already pointed out you have a database error, and reinstalling is not going to work and is a complete waste of your time.

Instead do something productive and login to your host, bring up PHPMyAdmin or an equivalent utility and see if you can connect to your database! WordPress is telling you it's having problems connecting to the database, so that is the root of your problem. Use the same parameters as the ones in your WordPress configuration file so you're comparing apples to apples.
