It probably will depend on how much do you plan to spend on it.
Camtasia is praised a lot. Camstudio is free.

Camstudio is great, but camtasia is better, although it is a bit expensive. I recommend using voice. Tell the user what is happening as well as use word balloons in your narr. This is for people who do not like noise. Good to have a text option just in case.

I agree, I have both. Camtasia has a cost and learning curve
but for the money it is very powerful. Once the learning curve
is over, it really becomes very easy to use.

If your short on funds, start free and then upgrade to paid
      software. You'll love it.

There's also Jing which I think is made by the Camtasia folks as well and it's free. I have used it, and it works great for basic screen capture shots and narration. Worth checking out.

Camtasia Studio is what you want. They offer a 30 day free trial and it's worth every penny. Does noise reduction, volume evening and everything you could ever want.

Isn't Jing restricted to a 5 minute narration or similar..? If not--I'll have a look at that too!

    PS
Is there an easy way to show each bullet point separately on the slide as I talk over it..? I have prepared slides with around 5 bullet points on each slide.Rather than have all points showing while talking about the first bullet point, I should like to be able to "hide" the last 4 bullet points and uncover each one as I come to talk over it..Or is that making things a little too complicated..?!!
