Amazon question re: Other similar products on same page

I'm putting up some Amazon sites at the moment, using both the ReviewAzon and Amaniche plug-ins (and if you're doing Amazon, I highly recommend them both).

My question is, for you wise old WF Amazon-ers, can I put another affiliate's similar products on the same page/site as the one with Amazon's? For example, if I have a site listing Amazon fire hydrants (work with me here), can I also have banners or links to a couple other manufacturer's hydrants? Seems that might not be looked on well by Amazon, but I'm not sure.

I know I can put Amazon and Adsense on the same page, but not so sure about similar products.

Thanks for abiding yet another newbie question.

I usually add similar products to the page, too, giving them options for models, manufacturers, and most importantly, price.

Way back when, I was deciding on a bookseller for a website's 'Recommended Reading' section. At the time, the two big players were Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Barnes & Noble had the better-known name, due to their chain of physical bookstores.

They also had an item in their affiliate contract specifying exclusivity on any page carrying B&N advertising. Amazon did not (and still don't AFAIK). I chose Amazon.

So if your particular approach lends itself to using multiple vendors, you should be fine with Amazon.
