When buidling backlinks for SEO, is it better that you add the www. in front of the domain?

I heard that when you are building backlinks, it doesn't matter if you put http://website.com or http://www.website.com (add the www.)

As long as you stick with one style when building backlinks for SEO, the search engines will pick that up. I am not 100% sure. Feel free to share what you know?

Well, assuming you also have access to the site in google webmaster tools, you can actually specify which one you prefer.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

That is interesting. I will give it a try. Thanks.

The important thing is to be consistent. Use it in all or don't use it in any, although most SEs have gotten better about treating both versions as pointing to the same domain.
