| Hey Warriors, Ok, I got a question and hope some guys and gals out there dipping there toes in niches other than MMO (Make Money Online) can shed a little light or some tips! Ok, I have a my own fair share of products in different niches, health related to be a little more exact! So, although my salesletters convert, I am always looking for better conversions as everyone, and my attention turns to video! Now, as my products on other niches are under pen names, the usual videos of me ain't gonna cut it here. So, as far as videos go on salespages outside of MMO, what do you guys and gals do??? I have been spying on my competition but it is minimal and none have videos! I have also searched other health related salespages and not found any videos at all, anyone know of any examples???? I have been thinking of powerpoint type, maybe displaying the problems and explaining what my products can do to defeat the problems, bullet point style, but this seems a little boring. So, any ideas or insights would be much appreciated! GoGetta |

I'm looking at exactly the same thing -- I'll probably go with pen-names, i.e. re-shoot the live-videos and introduce myself under a different name, depending on the niche. think "David DiAngelo" and "Eben Pagan" (does anybody know what his real name is?) might be a problem if you used istockphotos to introduce other characters as the author in the other markets... I've been thinking about the exact same thing lately. Here's the options I've come up with: 1.) Get a latex mask maker to make different faces, and use wigs... thinking Mrs. Doubtfire here. 2.) Use way over the top, outrageous costumes, like Lady Ga Ga meets Elton John 3.) Hire actors- not sure if I like this one. Concerned that an actor wouldn't have enough command of the materials to convince the viewer they are an 'authority.' Just throwing my ideas into the ring here, would love to hear what others think about this subject. -Dani |

I have a salespage in a niche dealing with a specific disorder that converted much higher when I introduced a video to the salespage. The only thing I used was camstudio, openoffice impress, and a headset to record the video. (didn't show my face) Start off with a brief introduction (try not to make it to knee deep in b.s.) then go straight into benefits (what the product will do for the reader) and a strong call to action at the end. The only thing that I really did for the benefits was expand upon each bullet point located on the salespage already. I would also recommend using an embedded video player (such as flowplayer) instead of a YouTube or Viddler player. This is from my personal experience, your results may vary, but I think it's worth a test run... |

Excellent advice Mark. the one thing I've been playing with lately is using MS Powerpoint 2010 (beta) -- whilst it's free to download. the transitions and animations are much better than openoffice, much closer to keynote on Apple Mac. over the next couple of months I'll transition over to Apple and then it'll be keynote all the way... If you have the money, hire a good actor. Otherwise, try the David DeAngelo approach - get a good camera, a bare background, put on some clothes relevant to your target market, and start your pitch. |

Have a great new year folks!

Here's something I've been seeing more of on TV lately... The video portion of the ad is a series of stock photos - some with text added to emphasize a point (benefit), some without. Depending on the product, actual product shots sometimes blend in. Audio is pure voice-over. Final slide is the call to action with contact info. Usual length, 30 to 60 seconds. |

Videos are a great way to market a product. Especially since a lot of people really do not like having to read advertisement copy. However, do keep in mind that if you are not a professional pitchman (like Anthony Sullivan or the late Billy Mays) you may not have the charisma and energy to actually convince someone that your products are what they need. 1- Concentrate on the product. 2- Don't complicate yourself. Keep it simple. I am a strong believer that simplicity can go a long way. There are many video creator programs out there, that allow you to edit together a whole bunch of pictures, create nice effects, add music and a voice over, and voila, you got yourself a video. 3- Do a little research and compare videos of other products even if they are not in your niche. They can be of great inspiration. Good luck |
