WordPress question

I have a blog on a hosting service that I would like to terminate, but don't want to lose the blog.

Can anyone tell me - or point me at a good information resource - how to transfer an entire WP blog from one hosing account to another?

    I have done this in the past - I backup my database to my hard drive. Then I install WP on the new host using Fantastico. Once WP is installed, there is an option for importing a database. Once that is done, you have your blog back just like it was on the old host.

    If you've made modifications to the WP files, backup those files and then copy those to the proper folder in WP using your FTP once WP is installed on the new host.

    There is also the option of importing all posts from one WP blog to another.

      Robin.....Do you use a Wordpress plugin to backup your database? I have a couple of blogs to transfer but have been putting it off thinking it would be difficult. Your instructions make it sound easy.

        I use a plugin that backs up my database when I tell it to - I have it set for a daily backup now and it is e-mailed to me so I always have one.
