I just want to rant a little about going to some sales pages that have testimonials on them that look like this,

Bill,

Wow! I love your product. I am making so much money that I have been able to fulfill my dream, to fill a large tower up with gold coins and swim in it every morning like Scrooge McDuck. I will never have to worry about working again!

John, USA

When I see some generic testimonial with no contact information I am immediately turned off to the product or service. They look like they are just made up from the person who designed the sales page.

So for people out there that are getting their own product and sales pages try your best to get quality testimonials. Sometime when I am on the fence about buying a product I will contact the people that are on there and ask them if they still feel the same way. I have got awesome feedback from people doing this, and actually met people that I am still in contact with today.

Maybe run a contest to see who has the best video testimonial or simple request reviews from your list. Just make sure that if you use it to provide some type of contact information or video of them raving about your product.

This is just my opinion, some may argue that generic testimonials are effective. I personally think they ugg up your sales page.

    I think marketers need to be more transparent with feedback. We should be using comment enabled sales pages and allowing people to review good and bad and leaving it all. It worked for Amazon why not us?

      Very good point, I thin that is probably the main reason that I always go to Amazon for so many of my purchases. I want to hear what the people think. I want to see some honest unbiased reviews.

      Testimonials are great because the marketer can see what he/she needs to improve up their product.

    John = website owner
    Dream = wishing to reach with this website

    I find that leaving the good and the bad and confronting it is better for business, then to just have raw raw raw

    Cheers,
