advice on outsourcing please

Hi warriors,

I need advice on how you search for web designers, programmers and copywriters who understands marketing online.

I usually outsource on odesk and elance, but the vendors i hire always seem to be clueless about say what a landing page is, or using php to configure date on the sales page.

Simple stuff that we marketers know but takes us forever to explain to another person over email and skype...

SO

My question is how to find these providers who understand online marketing and help me with writing, design and programming work?

With respect,
Perry Lai

Mark above is spot on. but if you still want to look beyond WF, it is a good idea to send the web designer a few landing pages example complete with with sales copy and optin forms etc. By the way, don't forget to tell him about the optin code as that is provided by the auto-responder company. You can just show him a page and tell him that you would would like to have a page with similar features but with a different design (graphically) and content.

It worked for me and don't see why it won't work for you as well.

    Good luck.

Even using sites like GetaFreelancer, you'll be taking one hell of a risk getting the exact copy that you really need, which sells / converts very well indeed.

You can get so-called copywriting experts on those sites - they set themselves up on very little experience thinking, 'hey I can write articles and content, writing sales copy shouldn't be any different, it's easy'!

Yeah, right on... If you want to believe that, let me tell you right now, you've got another think coming sunshine.

Copywriting is a skill which takes a lot of time to master, not only must you be an expert in the use of English but essentially you must know exactly how to hit people's emotional buying triggers and understand what exactly compels a person, to buy a product or service.

This will mean having an understanding of consumer buying psychology, it goes without saying that you must be a master wordsmith, fully acquainted with all of the nuances of the English language.

Sales copy (copywriting), is all about creating a slippery sales funnel... Every single sentence pushing the reader, cajoling them, encouraging them to read more and more information - grabbing hold of their senses, their subconscious mind, without the prospect even being aware of exactly what is happening to them.

No cheap outsourcer can do this for you.

If you want true gravity pulling sales copy, you must use someone who is absolutely fanatical about this copywriting craft. Certainly your initial investment may be a lot higher to begin with but your conversions will more than compensate for this initial outlay, fantastic investment.

A copywriter is many things not just experienced in the art of salesmanship in print, s/he is also your business consultant, marketer and general business advisor.

Get someone extremely good and they will very quickly know more about your business, than you even know yourself. That is their job, it just goes naturally with the territory of being a real professional copywriter.

You'll find some excellent copywriters worth their weight in gold on the Copywriting Forum, right here on the Warrior Forum.

Many come and go in that section but there is a mainstay of regulars who are simply brilliant at their job, contact one of those copywriters and you won't go far wrong.

Wishing you all the very best!

I hope this helps you out.

      Best,

I trust word of mouth more than any other source. Generally, if I'm looking for something specific, such as a copywriter with expertise in a certain field, I'll ask others within that field where they source their people from. This is usually a good way to find people that match the tasks you want without the worry of hiring the wrong person for the job.
