Default Man...Google Pulled All My Blogspot Blogs And lost me over $200 a week!

I make a variety of Internet Marketing products and have been selling these products using the blogger platform. I'd been doing quite nicely too, bringing in a couple of hundred dollars a week from these blogs.

Today I discover Google/Blogger has taken every one of them down...jeeze all the hours of work gone in a flash. It's a good thing I could recover all of my work from Google's cache.

I'd been using Artisteer to create some really nice templates and chose the option to remove the Blogger Navbar, I assume this is against Bloggers TOS and that's why the blogs were removed.

I guess this proves that free hosting can have it's drawbacks...man I was saving a fortune too on hosting.

Oh well, I guess I've learned my lesson and had better stick to paid hosting from now on

Such is life!

LOL I know was about to say that...hosting is cheap as. But maybe he means buying all the domain names too

It amazes me how many people use free hosting and free blogging platforms. Especially when the costs involved with hosting and domain name registrations are ridiculously low.

It was the domain costs mainly that I was referring to, I do use paid hosting and have a reseller account with Hostgator. Blogger just seemed a perfect medium for selling my budget priced applications...but I learned my lesson.

Google's TOS allow the navbar to be removed, although they claim it is better for you if you don't remove the navbar.

So, that is not the reason your blogs were removed.

All is sorted out now, I just had to validate my Google account by mobile phone and all my blogs returned

Still I think I'll transfer them all to paid hosting

Glad you got your blogs back. However,
using free hosting for your money sites
it's crazy.

I only use free hosting / free blogs for
backlinks.

This can happen sometimes if you have a lot of blogs on a single account or do some other things, like putting Javascript in a post. You just have to verify then you're fine. They figure a BH spammer wouldn't bother doing the verification.

I do use Blogger myself for a few money sites still. At one time, I had a good number of eBay EPN niche sites there until eBay disallowed using Blogger with their program last year.

I do agree with what other people said, a product sales site should be on its own domain. Just buy .info's if you want to keep it cheap, at least for the first year. That's what I do for the majority of my niche sites now unless I run across a tasty keyword rich .com that's available.

Thanks for letting us know what happened to you. We are all cautioned here on the Warrior Forum, and other IM info sources, to not use the free blogs and hosting to build a business. What happened to you should be a great lesson for all of us, and especially for the new people who are visiting the board.

One of the main reasons for using the free Blogger platform to sell products was to practice what I preach, as I was selling an ebook instructing people how to make money online for free, but I still have my "solid" hosted domains

I was impressed by how professional a blogspot blog could look, with some customization, without the Navbar and with your own favicon a blogger blog looks like any other hosted website.

Because I was doing things "by the book" I didn't think I really had anything to worry about, I mean I've had blogs for several years and never had a problem. This was a good "wake up" call.

At the end of the day it wouldn't have been a problem anyway as I could easily recover my blogs from Google's cache...but the backlinks I'd built and the SERPS I'd gained would have been painful to lose.

I'll still stick withthe blogger blogs...but will register and host domains too, mirroring the content but keeping it unique.

I agree James, I try to invest 90% of what I make back into my business. It is my goal to create an empire over time, the only way I can do that is by spending money to make money.

First way: Put in quality contents (do it yourself @ outsource freelancers) and putting adsense ads. Put in affiliate link related to the article you are writing.

Second way: Outsource PLR articles, put it inside your blog. Add adsense ads and affiliate links. Make several blogs with different niche.

Create several niche products, get hold of some good free templates like "revolution church" or use Artisteer to make some beautiful blogger templates...then promote the blogs using Yahoo Answers, article directories, web 2.0 sites etc (I use free traffic) and start making some money. It really isn't hard, as long as you are offering a product which is of good quality, price and has high demand.

I usually price my products around $10 (depending on the amount of work I need to put in) Use Dennis Beckers "5 bucks a day" methodology and you just can't fail.

This is just a typical example on why we should never use a free hosting for businesses. It is ok for hobby but if you are making money out of them then...

But still there are too many people still look for these so called cheap routes...
It is really insane.

I seem to recall new GMail accounts once could only be validated by mobile phone.

Just as well you had a mobile phone.

Out of interest, was this the only validation option they offered you?
