Hi Warriors,

Scenario: You launched your IM product, now you NEED sales FAST !!! Like "MONEY IN THE BANK TODAY" Fast.

You want to build your list ASAP !

Your TWO options:

The editor of "Entrepreneur Magazine" offered you a deal to place a FULL page editorial ad on your IM product for $4,000 in the Entrepreneur Magazine or Spend that $4,000 on Google Adwords.

Which option do you feel is best, to spend your advertising budget to build your list ASAP ?

    Always buy the clicks. a full page ad in any magazine needs 3-6 insertions before people notice you. Trust me I have spent my share of cash on magazine ads.

    Thanks again for your response, a very interesting response. A click takes a few seconds the visitor may or may not become a customer regardless the click is gone.However from the magazine perspective the editorial feature is there longer than a second, it continues to work after the money is gone. The Magazine continues to build brand, educate prospects and eventually build leads. However, the Magazine wouldtake perhaps 3 weeks prior to that specific issue being Published and read and for the editorial piece to take effect. I am interested in what other Warriors would have to say about this.

    Hi Brad Gosse,

    First of all "LOVE THE PICTURE", it sounds as if you did not like your results with advertising with full page Magazine ads. If Magazine ads would need 3-6 insertions before people notice. That money can be used to multiply my Google adword campaign 3 to 6 times. So in essence an effective Magazine editorial full page ad would cost up to 6 times as much as ONE effective Google PPC campaign. Thanks for your response Brad Gosse.

    You answered your own question. If the editor had your "content" TODAY, you are still not seeing your advertorial on newstands for at least 60-days.

      However, If I really needed traffic and instant sales, and had 4K to invest, I would still not do it in google adwords, cause when the 4K runs out, if you did not set up the campaign right, you are out of money.

      I would find 30-40 IM sites such as warrior forum and post WSO's , WFCA *classified ad, get Paid reviews copies written on popular IM blogs, get paid ads sent from list owners, etc (of course outsource, what can be outsourced), I believe you can build a bigger traffic source that way, than google adwords. It is more work, but even when you run out of 4K you still have good traffic

      Nope. Like Ivana, I would invest differently for now. I'd take that product (or a re-spin of it) and offer it up as a WSO (offer some review copies to get the sales ball rolling). Then I'd go find and pay some people to blast the product (not the WSO version of it) out to their relevant lists (building yours at the same time). Then, I'd build some affiliate assets and bring on a handful of them. Then, I'd pause and look at my results, tweak and evaluate next steps, including if I really need that print ad (which you probably don't).

    Thanks for your response, it is a good strategy.My historical problem with that plan is that most Warriors will not pitch your product to their list unless you purchase a Solo Ezine ad which most warriors don't do they would prefer a Joint Venture. With that Joint Venture the list owners want to be paid on the front end and plus commissions on the back end. Which your sacrificing your profits before you even make the profits. The JV will get you traffic and some sales. The Paid review content on blogs is an excellent idea, However one must study the demographics of the blog audience in comparison to the cost of placing that Paid Review content on the blog VS Google Adwords guaranteed clicks with that same money. It is indeed something to think about.

    I would go with Adwords (if you know what you are doing). Otherwise, I would send the money to a good writer and have keyword rich articles on site in order to build up your site/offer in the SERPS.

    i'd buy $4000 worth of names from a list broker. Mag ads can work but not fast as you have requested. You cannot target as well as Internet based ads and you cannot test, make quick adjustments and test again with a single mag ad.

    One other option is to make a small ad that offers people a free video if they go to your site (which you will need with PPC ads anyway). Check out the second link in my sig to see what i mean.

    I used one about 2 or 3 years ago with success but I cant remember the name or link for it. I remember the costs were very reasonable. Others on this board may know a place with current standing.

    The one thing I am doing now is seeing geographically where my buyers are coming from and targeting that area with online classifieds. For my product it works because there are three or four major 'foreclosure' areas of the country I can target. However, you are likely targeting someone that can be anywhere. That is the magic of building your own traffic because you can use google analytics to look for patterns. I guess you can do it with PPC as well, but I have never been able to make the numbers work for PPC, especially with the newest fad, facebook ads.
