Before I gice up Internet Marketing completely...

I just wanted to ask some experienced folks if I am even close...
I own a product, The Wedding MC Jokebook. It is sold by three affiliates mainly, who make up over 04% of all my sales. I pay out 65% ona 20 and 30 buck product that works. (Low refumd rate).

I am trying to create more sales myself (and hence make more money). I have the wedding mc duties site (www.weddingmcduties.com) and I back linked it, used optimized software, selected non-competitive key word terms - not wedding mc.

I generate maybe 5 to 10 sales a month and some of those are directly from the ranked landing page.

Monthly inclome is still over $500 a month so that is fine. Do I try to compete with my affiliates or just leave it and try to develop a better backend product?

I keep thinking I am close and missing soemthing obvious. I am a newbie as an affiliate. Right now it seems easier to create a product and have it sold by affiliates than to sell my own product well.

First off, I'd get rid of the parked page in your sig. Some might see it as an affiliate promotion for GoDaddy...

That said, if three affiliates make up 40% of your sales and you find it easier to create products and sell through affiliates, you simply need more affiliates.

It's still a selling job, but you're selling the people on promoting your product(s) rather than on buying the product itself.

Do those three affiliates have anything in common (like running wedding-oriented sites/blogs)? Can you find more sites and site owners that share those characteristics?

If you can say yes, you have a valuable advantage in recruiting affiliates. You have actual performance numbers. You ca approach them and say "three other affiliates are generating $x per 100 visitors, and they have [whatever] in common with you. Are you interested in exploring the possibility of promoting my product for our mutual benefit?" Some will say yes, some will say no and some will ignore you.

    Just keep on moving...

You know you're on the right track if you're making over $500 a month, so why the dramatic headline? You have no intention of giving up, so why try to trick us into reading your post?

Looking at it as competing with your affiliates isn't the right way to look at it. Any affiliate with any sense knows you're also trying to sell the product without them. It's their job to get people they come into contact with to your sales page. They know you're working to make sales on your own, and if they don't, then they aren't smart enough about affiliate marketing to help you much anyway.

You want to increase sales? Go find sites in the wedding niche that don't offer a product like yours and try to make a deal with them. You promote their site or product in your ebook if they do the same for you. The fact they can earn an affiliate commission from your product and have their own product or site promoted would be pretty tempting.

If they also have an affiliate program so much the better, but if not, don't worry about it and promote them and give them an affiliate commission anyway. That's how you get what you want, by helping others get what they want.

    G'day Lee

Mate this Pete Miller here from Australia - you originally wrote to me when you were about to launch.

I have the 'most expensive' wedding MC book on the face of the earth @ US$47 - YOU CAN BE A WEDDING MC - which is really for professional MCs

I wouldn't complain too much my friend - lots of IMs would love to have $500 bucks per month passive income. You gotta remember the size of the market!

Your SEO efforts are outstanding - you are everywhere man! You pop-up all over the place. So congrats on that - and I endorse everything the good folks have already said before me; affiliates expect you to sell as well.

I'd be lost without my clickbank affiliates - they are very consistent.

And thanks for signing up to follow my tweats - which are few and far between ... keep rockin and laughin ...
