AW Stats / Analytics Marketing.. Anyone Do It?
Over time I've noticed a trend becoming more apparent than ever before and that is the use of driving traffic to my sites via sites I've never had a link on. It's kinda like someone using your RSS feed to get pingbacks so you visit their site only when you visit there is no link to your site on theirs.
I'm guessing it is done via faking the referrer and most probably automated. Looking at it I'm definitely thinking it is a a marketing tactic and those that are using it may be doing it in masssive volumes.
Maybe I'm wrong but what do you guys think?
