Is Drupal Or Jommla A GOOD way to set up a membership site?

Alright guys

I have heard but I dont know how true it is that you dont have to go out and buy of these expernsive membership scripts to run a membership site through it..

You can actually do it all through drupal and joomla.. Is that correct??

    Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress, and DotNetNuke

    can all run membership sites.

    Each one has their pros and cons, so depending on what you want your membership site to do would directly effect which platform to use.

      Well I came across a script called simplememberpro which I am using at the moment, and trying to customise certain things... So I am afer something like that..

      1) Allow people to join on a fixed monthly fee
      2) Allow people to pay an annual fee
      3) Allow people to upgrade to different membership levels
      4) Offer a coupon code (special discount)
      5) Offer a discount for the first week then pay the normal amount
      6) Allow people to promote individual products and get a comission for them
      7) Affiliates program
      8) download protection
      9) Shopping cart layout, but used under member area.
      10) offer firesesale, dimesales, and so on

      Thats a few that I can rememberof the top of my head

    You can use them for a membership site... Is it a GOOD way to set up a membership site ? Depends upon who you ask, my opinion is no because it is open source. Never use an open source platform for a membership site that deals with people's personal info.
