Hey everyone,
So I was wondering what kind of click rate are you trying to achieve with your articles? I've only just begun and have been using EzineArticles for right now and they have the click rate statistic and was just wondering what people shoot for with their articles. Also, do other article directories provide you with the click rate statistic?
Thanks

Most article marketers seem to want 20% or above, but with ezine you can get HUGE numbers of clicks and no sales. Many who click are your competition, what good does that do you? (Ok, lots of VIEWS keep you in the "most viewed" category, yes).

All I care about are sales. That's why I created CBSaleTracker.

I found time & again that an article on ezine would start off with 200 - 300 views, 20 - 50 clicks, but ZERO sales.

Then I get a sale from the EXACT SAME ARTICLE on ArticlesBase and see that it only had 25 views and 4 clicks.

Views don't pay & click % does not pay.

Attract TARGETED viewers, lead them to your offer, and show them an offer that converts.

    Regards,
    PCRoger.

    PCranger that is interesting.

Because I get sales from Ezinearticles.

You really think it is your competition? I am willing to bet only 1% of my clicks are competition (unless you are in the IM niche)

Yeah I feel it would probably depend on the niche. I mean, for something like IM I would bet a fair bit of clicks are from competition, but other niches I feel would be getting interested readers.

PCRoger, if you don't mind answering, are there other sites you suggest that get you more sales per article?

Strangely the best way to get a high CTR% is to give very little information in the body of your article. Make it more like an introduction and then have a link to get "the rest" in your resource box. My most comprehensive, best written articles actually have the lowest click-through rate because I've already given the visitor all the information he/she came for by the time they get to my author resource box.

I see. How long are your articles usually, because I feel like if you are just introducing your topic, an article that is around 300-350 words would be pretty vague and not very interesting, or do you typically have a shorter article?

Alot of people say you should have a ratio of about 1:5
I think that would be amazing and probably rake in alot of income for you but most of us have a hard time getting a click through rate like that.

I think a decent CTR is 15% you would definitely want to try to get it higher than that but that is a very good stepping stone. I'm not sure if other directories provide the same CTR and stats as ezine but some of the better ones do give you some kind of stats.

Shoot for 20% and above and you will be on the right path
