1ShoppingCart Affiliate craziness

OK . . . finally biting the bullet to set up my 1ShoppingCart affiliate program.

But yikes, I am going around in circles! Here are the areas where I am stuck:
  • How do I set up my affiliate program so each product has its own unique link (rather than the default link 1SC automatically gives you)?
  • 1SC's affiliate tools page is pretty ugly. I am trying to setup a better looking tools page, but also want to make it simple for affiliates to insert their affiliate link. Anyone have a process for this?
  • Do I need to hire someone from Rent-a-coder to make this happen?
Any Warrior threads, actual affiliate center examples, personal advice, blog posts or articles that will help with this are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Rob

      Hi Rob

You can create mulltiple affiliate programs and each will have its own link. 1SC works so that the affiliate link is for the affiliate program and not the product.

Then when you edit the products you go to 'affiliate' and attach the product to the relevant affiliate program.

I have mine setup differently. ALL my products are in the default affiliate program. This means 1SC only gives one link, which is for the default program, but having it setup like this allows me to pay backend commissions on all my sales.

So if someone buy product1.com and the customer then buys product2.com, the affiliate will be paid a commission. This works because all the products are in the same affiliate program.

To get around the problem of only having one destination affiliate link I created a page like below. Pay attention to the formatting of the links.

      Grab Your Affiliate Tools!

      I hope this helps!

P.S It took two of us 7 days and a LOT of effort to figure out the above!

    Hi Lee:

Thanks so much for this. Great advice. Feel better that it took you awhile to figure it out as well. I was feeling really stupid!

By the way . . . your info is terrific!

Last year you made an amazing post here on the forum on how you built your business on eBay that was just amazing. Seems to me you do stuff right, so I really appreciate your advice on this.

    Hi Brian

    I haven't a clue what they're for either!!

Everyday James emails me a daily report of sales and other KPIs and today I noticed you'd generated $280 sales over 3 products. Thanks!

Ro - thanks for the compliments, that means a lot. If you have any more questions about this just post them here and I'll be around tomorrow to help any way I can.

    Cheers

    Found a site
that takes this one step further . . .

When you enter your affiliate ID, and click the button, it pre-populates the tools with their correct affiliate link.

Give it a try . . . just enter any 5 number string and click.

I know Russell Brunson and Stu McLaren talk about hiring a coder to create an interface where affiliates can enter their affiliate login info, and it will automatically pre-populate their affiliate link into all the tools in their affiliaite center for them.

Curious . . . has anyone ever done this with rent-a-coder, and how much it would it run?
