"Will You Sleep With Me" Type Selling Don't Work!

Time to give back to the warrior forum....

I started online in 2007 and tried everything even those new things that were hot and nothing worked. YES! you know the feeling. I was barely making $100 a month online and so frustrated. THEN ONE DAY I SAT DOWN WITH MY MENTOR AND THINGS CHANGED BIG TIME....

I remember we sat down and he went through all my websites, emails, salespagpes and the looked frustrated at me and I remember his words exactly. He said, "WILL YOU SLEEP WITH ME!"..... agggh eerrr.....*Eyes are wide opened right about here*

(((INSERT WEIRD SILENCE HERE!)))

Then..... he told me. "You are using that same style as some jerk in a bar trying to pick up a skanky women they drunk idiot that just walks up and asks the first woman "Hey babe, will you sleep with me!!" but in this case I was a SLEAZY fly-by-nighter salesman.

PHEW FOR MINUTE THERE I THOUGHT HE WAS.....>WELL......YOU KNOW

Anyway .....Helll yes this will work sometimes as it is a numbers game and I was making a few good sales here or there but not killing it.

Soon I realized that selling online is about BUILDING A LIST, and SELLING TO THEM SEDUCTIVELY. Not just doing the hard salesmen pitch that get you one or two sales every now and then. Ever since then I have gone from about 100 dollar a month to creating and empire of sites, newsletters and tools, and membership exclusive VIP sites and at present bring in 5 figures a month! YES $XX,XXX.

Basically I figured it out. Get em on your list and give and give and give until they finally give in and think to themselves..."Heck if this is his FREE stuff, imagine what I will get if I pay him" NO BIG SECRET RIGHT. Well that's where things changed for me..... i just knew this but never put it into action! Once I put this into action, i was totally amazed.

Think of it when you met your wife, or girlfriend. You didn't just say..... sleep with me, or lets be a couple the first time you met. You created a bond, or created a courtship first.

So if there was a strategy I have changed is to create a bond first. Sell to them seductively. Don't ask them for the sale, show them, give them proof and let them decide they want to buy. Thats how powerful this is. Get into their mind and let them create the conversion inside....get them thinking "why shouldn't I buy this!" instead of "Why the heck should I buy this"

IN SUMMARY....

BUILD THAT LIST, AND SECRETLY SELL TO THEM SEDUCTIVELY and you will win them over. It has worked for me and has turn my stupid little $100 a month money spinner into literally an empire where I earn thousands, and do whatever the hell I want during the day.

Don't be that idiot that goes up to every lady in the bar and asks, "will u sleep with me" Even if you are exceptionally good looking (i.e. a really good salesman) You will still get a conversion rate that is dismal.

I guess you know what I mean. BUILD A LIST, BE DIFFERENT, AND TAKE ACTION....

Why are you still reading this Good luck, god bless.

    celente,

    Exactly!

Glad you finally got it and are doing well.

Btw, that thanks was for the story - you tell a good story, and one that keeps people interested. Hope you use it wisely too.

thanks brother. THis is infact a true story, and once I figured it out, only took a few months to go from $100 a month to $500 and then $1000 and on and on....You get the picture.

My wife is happy as she quit her job and we can do anything we want during the day now. Everything is just on autopilot. Gotta love this marketers life.... *big smile*

The really big money came as My list grew exponentially.

    Celente,

It is better to build for long term then it is for the short term money. One gets you places, and the other ... well, you know.

One of the biggest problems or roadblocks with people when they start out is that thwy cannot get out of the way of themselves. They go in and believe they are marketers, when in reality, they haven't yet arrived.

Don't worry though, I've been there and I'm sure many others have been there too.

Btw, I never thought it wasn't a true story - You being realistic or truthful is what made the story so powerful. Now maybe it'll help some other poor soul that's stuck on that $50-$100 a month.

Thanks mmurtha, you hit it on the head. Exactly.

I was once there, and I know how frustrating this it. Luckily we have this place. Like a diamond in the rough...This place is priceless!! and I owe it to all the guys and girls and big marketers that hang out in here.

anybody feel free to ask questions and i would be happy to help out where I can.

That is quite an interesting way of putting it, and I agree 100%. People don't like to be sold things. Just like people don't being hit on in a bar (unless it's someone far hotter than them). So you either have a fantastic product they can't live without, or seductively sell them.

        Nice post! Thanks for sharing.

That is a great post my friend. Never heard it put that way before.

People spend so much time and effort getting people to salespages that rarely convert. Buying ads, 100's of web2 pages/blog posts, 100's of articles all for the occasional commission. Hey I did it too for a long long time and barely made money. I too was stuck at the $100 or 200 a month level.

What if instead of being a promoter and hoping for an easy sale.... you wrote a quick answer to one of their questions... and offered them a free little ebook. and got them on your own list first. Now you are offering help and value instead of sticking affiliate links in their face.

        Big difference

Even if you know the product is great, people by nature don't believe the salesman. But they start to believe what you say when you aren't getting anything out of it. And after a short while they will buy what you tell them about.

yes people dont realise that in between failure and success is not much at all. I am working less, but working smarter.

I stopped worring bout how much I would charge and gave stuff away for FREE. Never underestimate the power of that....even if you feel like you are giving away the world....KARMA will come back and give rewards seven fold down the track.

I do this still and have one ebook for free that has been downloaded over 400,000 times. Imagine how many people now have this ebook and see the links. Very powerful stuff.

Thanks for sharing. I agree with you that building a relationship is important as Jeremy has mention that nobody like the hard selling experiences.

Focus on giving good values and the money will naturally come.

    Hi Celente,

Quite interesting post you put here. I was laughing but your post do make sense.

Yes, you got to give, give, give before you sell peole with stuff. The problem is a lot of people know this but never implement what they learn. They keep chasing the shiny new stuff.

I disagree - I even HATE the free stuff marketers send.

Maybe some are OK, but most of them are just useless freebies that are used to stuff their autoresponder sequence.

I always skip those emails unless it's coming from someone reputable. Maybe it's just me, I don't know.

i was once like you, so dont worry. But you have to make sure the FREE stuff you give is not tyre kicker stuff. Cant stress it enough.

There are so many people out there saying to themselves....man my product is so good im need to sell it for $97....nope give it away for free. Seriously, make them become a fan.....once you reel them in and they trust you....they are a fan and email opener for life. You cant beat that!!!

May I present a different side of the coin?

Years ago, when I was a builder here in Japan, I met another Canuck 2x4 builder - and as strange circumstance would have it, he was also a Kevin. He was tall and caucasian, basically all the attributes one needs to be popular with a large segment of girls in Osaka.

Now, there are a large number of bars in Osaka that cater to the ex-pats - mainly English teachers and carpenters (the hordes that came here after the Kobe quake) - and tend to attract a lot of what we call Gaijin groupies (girls who are very interested in foreign guys).

        {I interrupt this story at this point to emphasize that my Rieko is not one of these kind of girls and I did not meet her in a bar}

Anyway, not all the girls that go to these Gaijin bars are looking to sleep with a tall caucasian guy. Many are there just to be in an English-speaking environment and maybe even practice the English they've been learning. And, this other Kevin was not interested in wasting his evenings in idle chit chat. He was there for one reason (kind of like a marketer).

So, instead of focusing on building a relationship, and maybe spending a whole evening talking Engrish with no hope of the kind of conversion he was hoping for, he tended to go for the big sale.

In Japan, we have a thing called Love Hotels - hotels for recreational purposes. His marketing strategy was to sit down with a girl, have very little chit chat, and then proceed to ask her if she wanted to go to a Love Hotel with him.

How was his conversion rate? He got turned down numerous times. However, before the night was over, he did go to one of these hotels with a willing customer. In fact, there was the night when he had two friends take him up on his proposal, and he was too beat to come to work the next day.

The moral of this story: You have to qualify your prospects.

    Big LOL!

But yes, what you say here is perfectly true - if you are onto any kind of marketing (information or goods) then nothing can be as good as building a long term customer relationship.

      Good question for sure!

tis easy to explain. My whole approach changed overnight.

      1) dont become their cure. Become their friend trust is a must. Do this with every email, autoresponer, ad, sales page etc. FRANK KERN is a must for this. You dont buy his stuff...just watch how he presents, his tone, his reactions, his language, his email copy, his sneakiness. Frank kern secret is not his great info but the way he comes across as an old friend just bored and sending you a video email. VERY CLEVER. I use video and camtasia alot.

      2) Reward buyers with great bonuses. Give them things they didnt expect. I realize now how powerful this is. Also email them and ask them how they are going and give them your direct email. I have had MANY people buy my product just because I answered their questions they wrote at 2am in the morning or if they were having troubles. When they can see you are a real person, most of them are in SHOCK.

      3) I piggy back off big news items, and news events, etc. This helps with SEO, traffic, and creates excitement. I name my products carefully, not some gimmicky marketing brands that other amateurs use. People love this for some reason.

      4) People want validation and proof....yes...so show them. People go nuts if you are more the random guy on the street showing how you come across this thing and it works and give them proof. People really love this. I hate marketers that just ramble on how they are important and make millions each year. BAFOOOONS!!! I found out people hate those idiots...they just want results and want help. SO show them a few proof or samples without lying and you will win hearts. I use this stuff in my sales page and use videos, my favorite client testimonies (live video), real log in screenshots etc.

I guess you get the picture.
