Is it possible to get targeted free traffic?

Hello everyone. I am continuing my IM education, thanks to all of you who have contributed. I believe this question may benefit every newbie as well as some of the veteran IMers.

I have been able to increase my free traffic but it is largely untargeted and while it has made my alexa ranking go up it does not convert well. I have gotten some free targeted traffic from article marketing and commenting on forums and blogs but there are only so many sites that blog about my niche.

Have any of you found other ways of obtaining free targeted traffic that you would be willing to share?

      I second this recommendation. If you already know the keywords people are searching for in your niche, optimizing your site is the best method for getting traffic.
